SMBX: ShortStar's World Review
You're telling me. I made this thing almost 7 years ago.
In retrospect yes I should have made a simpler first world / land. That would probably be easier than splitting levels. I have forgotten everything about how to make SMBX levels. The funny thing is I may have to go back and learn from my tutorial videos from 8 years ago. Now that's a bit mind blowing.

Its been a while since I've been here. I'll have to play it again and see if I agree with your review since I don't even remember making it at all. Perhaps I could break up the entire game, turn it into 4 worlds rather than 2 and take out enemies.

You can only delete hopes :-) Sorry that was a bad joke. Actually since the review focuses more on what I don't have than what I do it would probably still get a 2.5 rating... if not a 2.0 rating for taking 6 months to finally spit it out. But giving 1/5 to the story to a game that blatantly says it doesn't have one is like rating a mario game for its story.

You should probably delete the review seeing as how it was reviewing a version from quite some time ago.

I think I figured out something better...
Instead of having fire spells burn and ice spells freeze...
A fire spell should just damage with fire.
But a fire enemy that poisons should burn. Same effect as poison, but you need ointment instead of an antidote.
An ice spell will still do ice damage.
But an ice enemy that paralyzes should freeze. Same effect, different remedy.

It could be balanced and some things would be fun thoughts like blinding flashes, drowning waters and burns. Even though they only last 1 turn... the enemies are dead at turn 2 giving them no chance. Maybe if enemies died at turn 5 it would be better, but that would ruin the structure.
