Kind of weird how the topic of "how can you make random encounters more fun?" turned into "TOUCH ENCOUNTERS ARE BETTER: THE MUSICAL" and then "how can you make touch encounters more fun?"

what would be a good fictional or fantasy artisan craft or trade

I am fairly certain that most people here are passingly familiar with the guild system, and also that most of the suggestions could fit within it fairly easily.
