Leo & Leah: A Love Story Review

Wow, this is a pretty detailed review, dude. It's always interested in hearing someone's actual thoughts on my work, even if they cannot fully explain them. I agree that an ABS would have been much better for Leo & Leah, but I'd already coded all of the battles before I got that feeling, lol, and I wouldn't know how to make an ABS non-repetitive in RPG Maker. But yeah, it should have been an ABS.

I am glad someone noticed the synchronization between cutscenes and music. I always try to do this.

Also interesting that you did finish the game in spite of you finding it difficult. I really didn't want this to be a button-masher and you had to actually use different strategies in order to survive. But yeah. I'm glad you finished it and enjoyed it. Thanks for the review.

This is so raaaaaaaad

Leo & Leah: A Love Story

@argh:
Having Plush level up... was unintentional. But I guess it's kinda cool too, like having it in the party longer and longer makes it stronger (I guess?) Plush is really supposed to be a beginner's item. I didn't figure people would still be buying it (though I still gave the option) past the third chapter. It gets really useless late in the game.

@Crystalgate:
Maybe I should've had a secret ending for beating the game with Plush alive, huh? lol That would've been very very near-impossible anyway. Awaiting your review, if you do plan to write it!

Leo & Leah: A Love Story

Well, I die often, and I'm usually drained out after each battle, so unless there's some healing source nearby, I have to wait A LOT to replenish. I basically never run, cause I always need the extra HP/SP. My items are few, so I save them. I don't use skills often, cause I'd have to wait too long to replenish the SP, and when I do is basically war cry and those double attacks. I don't know, maybe I'm using a wrong strategy or something?

Or maybe I'm underleveled? I just started chapter 4, and I'm at level 10.

Level 10 is normal for Chapter 4. In fact, you can beat this game by Level 14. Why do you have little items, though? There is no other reason for seashells other than to buy items. I'd suggest stocking up on a lot of Stuffed Gnats for outside-of-battle healing after giving Cheep the Santa hats. Is obtaining seashells a problem? If you're getting difficulty I recommend having War Cry, Enguarde and Heart for Leo, as that's the "easiest" one. If you're having a hard time getting seashells, use the "Trick" ability on bosses/mini-bosses. It gives you like 3, 5, 10 seashells each time you use it.

Dashing into enemies helps a great deal also. Are you doing that?

Leo & Leah: A Love Story

Really? And after people said that it was "too easy", ha. Which part is giving you problems? You have to manage your skills, SP and items right.

Moar video

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit! I'm lovin it. With this going on, I can just imagine the cool things you can do with your battles.

No problem - this blog concerns the bugs, anyway!
