The Screenshot Topic Returns

Not much of a game maker anymore, but I still enjoy making scripts

Seraphim Gates

Last blog post? (Mostly Screenshots)

Sure, I'll keep that in mind.

Rewards for good blog post.

Hate to be negative, but do we really need a system to reward the same 4 or 5 people over and over again for posting art?

I've seen a lot of blogs with pretty good information and sharing that no one posts in, yet blog about a piece of game art and boom the floodgates open.

We don't need really need to reward people for sharing, we need to be more involved in what they're already sharing.

Random screenshots gave me inspiration

I do the same thing with scripts. I replicate features in games I play, like battle systems, menus and effects.

I don't replicate things already in RPG Maker games though.

I helps me a lot since I get the benefit of practicing with something that is already defined rather than partial idea or wall of text design document.

A script that I always wanted to make for VX, but for some reason never got around to do it.

Footsteps!

If anyone has any better footsteps tiles for VX and is willing to share, let me know.
ha! neat.
Are the footsteps generated only on certain tiles (ie- snow and sand) or do they always show up?

They only show up on some tiles, like snow and sand, but can be set to appear in any tile.

Wow, this script is annoying...

It could be many things that put a window in a place.

1. Your window has the same name as another window class and it's above it. This would mean that the script below overwrites the one above.

2. In the scene this window is being used it's x position is being set to 0. @example_window.x = #.

3. There is a method in your own window changing it's position for some reason, self.x = #.

For simple testing just go to the scene the window is being used and test around with the object.

Example: (Yours may differ)

@target_window.x = # (X Value)

Or in the window itself in any update or refresh method or even the initialization self.x = # (x value)

If this doesn't help you find the source of the change then put your script and I'll see what I can do.

Looks impressive, I got excited about it, then... "Holiday season 2011".
