People don't like having to learn new stuff, even if it's basically the same stuff with a new skin.

HOME/OFF are prime examples of NOT using default assets, aren't they? So how can that be a deterrent?author=Deacon BatistaHonestly the overly fancy art style of XP and the character sprites of VX Ace are what keeps me from really wanting to use said programs.
Glad most of the awards were won by a 2k3 game.
Making 16x tilesets and such for VX Ace and XP is a pain. Same with the character set resources. Also, the default combat system of both VX and XP are hideous and CBS can be rather frustrating and complicated to get working properly.
Just not fond of them.
