[RM2K3] Jo's Monsters!

Very good color management. Your strong point imho!

Aspiring game developer. Life decision dilemma

I have to agree with Kentona.

Don't be afraid to experiment things. It's true that you will discover your true calling by trying things.

I always dreamed to travel to Japan. I saved up money washing dishes to go there. Sometimes a cook would a pot with burned cheese at the bottom. Just leave it there, on the counter there. The bottom was all black and charred and it smelled so bad mixed with the water you know?

Goddamn it. I was so stressed. Sweat coming down my forehead as dishes were pilling up because I had to scrub that cheese all fossilized down there. But I told myself, if I can get that cheddar off that pot bottom I'll be one dairy closer to Japan.

I was a poor guy, working a poor-man's job. I mean, washing dishes is like one step away from prostitution when you think about it, it really is hitting rock bottom.

I was earning less than 8 dollars an hour for scrubbing all sort of stuff.

Then I had enough money to go to Japan and I didn't like it at all. My bath was so small I could barely fit naked in there.

So, sometimes you really wish for something but it turns out pretty bad. And sometimes you don't want something to happen, like a cook telling you to clean a pan filled with cheese but you learn a lot from that problem.

Just my two cents, I hope this helps.

1000+ downloads

Holy shit. 1000 downloads. You must be over the moon right now.

My only criticism is that the face of the snail looks a bit like a pair of testicles which I find unnerving.

Congratulations for your 1k downloads! Time to celebrate!!!

P.S.: I understand, don't worry.

RMN v4.6 a.k.a. "Backlog"

@Link: Whenever I read what I consider to be unconvincing arguments or poorly worded rationale I've got this knee jerk reaction to point them out. It's a pet peeve of mine. I can't help it. Well I can because I'm not going to debunk anything any further about the topic of MS because I don't want to give it more time. It did require a willpower saving throw (which I barely made!).

Anyways, I have yet to meet my match rhetoric wise so we'll get more occasions for me to write more essays :D. I wouldn't waste your time trying to convince me not to do things the way I feel like doing them. Well you can, but you'll soon find out I'm pretty stubborn.

Just so I'm not too off-topic:

Could we have email notifications of replies of subscribed threads? Unless it's already possible.

Best of Blogs #010

That's fine. It's your thing anyway. You have the right to manage it like you want. To be honest, the only log I ever read is "what's written", I very rarely (if ever) read devlogs otherwise. I read it because it's only one and I assume it'll be interesting.

Best of Blogs #010

... say otherwise. Sure, consistently making it to the best of blogs page has the potential to devalue the writer (oh, this person made the cut again? Surprise surprise. Next), but devs needs a much exposure as they can get. If they consistently make good blogs that deserve exposure, then I say they've earned a spot on here no matter how many times they have. If anything, it provides constant examples of well-written blogs to look at when deciding what to write in your own.

Yeah, I suppose you're right.

If you or Luchino wrote blogs that weren't so great one week, I wouldn't add them (I think that's happened to both of you before, actually), but because you both keep a steady stream of great blogs, you make the list.

Well of course you wouldn't and you have, which is why I couldn't understand your point. I disagree with you on a lot of things Liberty but there's one thing for sure, you're fair.

Personally, I am less tempted to read a log if it's part of a long list then if there are say just a couple. I mean, the more there are, the less likely the one who make it there end up being read. It's simple probability. That might just be me though.

Like exposure wise, I think a single blog per game is enough for every "best of". A good writer is still rewarded, there are less logs in the list which increases the chances of games getting attention.

Also, if you limited this feature to say, 5 or 3, that would really "mean" something so to speak. It really means that what you did stood out. Again, personally, I would much rather make the list very rarely when there are three spots to make then make it every week when 10% of logs make it there. I don't know if I'm making sense but if everyone is number 1 there's no number 1.

Just to clarify though that's just my opinion which is probably again the minority. It's great you're doing this and you're consistent and reliable about it too. Just some ideas to make the whole thing more "meaningful" so to speak (no that it's meaningless at the moment, far from it!).

Best of Blogs #010

I just don't see what kind of wrong idea they might get from my comment. Not that it matters it's just puzzling to me how you think about things sometimes.

Best of Blogs #010

Your and Luchino's byplay kinda hinted it a little

What are you implying exactly?

Best of Blogs #010

Like, seriously, I'm not picking you or Luchino because it's the both of you posting.

Did someone think that?

Best of Blogs #010

I think Toaster and I deserve an award for making the cut so many times. XD

Nah, I don't want anything. Quality is it's own reward.

Actually (watch out, I have a suggestion!), maybe we can rotate the best blogs around so that new people can get it too? Make a top 10 with different games every time?

If too many logs end up here, it's sort of loses it's purpose imho.
