Slow Movement Route Question

If you have an autorun event going it will take precedence over all other events on the map, effectively halting their processing.

Mafia Round 4 sign-ups!

To answer your question ivory, I wouldn't have accepted if you'd asked me to join the mafia. I had decided as soon as I got my role PM that I would choose town after the day was over.

Having trouble kickstarting my plot...

Yeah! Who needs motivation or narrative consistency when you have deus ex machina!

Rock on everybody!

I am...orange.

Also welcome!

Polymorphous Perversity (18+ NWS)

As one of the first playtesters of the game, I come from this having completed the game outside of the gamer's perspective, so I'd like to offer my opinions on what Calunio was going for with this game.

Obviously this is just my take on it and I may be wildly off the mark, but hear me out.

I've seen quite a bit of discussion saying that the game is bad because it was supposed to be a psychological examination of sexual impulses and turned out just to be a comedy porn game. From my conversations with Calunio and my playing of the game itself, I honestly believe this to be intentional; Calunio made the game like this so that people would be horrified and offended by it.

Yes, the game is heartless in its portrayal of the transgendered. And everyone else. I don't think there's a single character in Polymorphous Perversity who doesn't perpetuate some kind of stereotype or bias, but that fits with the stated purpose of the world the protagonist is in. Everyone there is just having indiscriminate sex with everyone and everything (besides the rape victims obviously) not just the "trannies". Are the submissive girls a realistic representation of the Dom/sub dynamic? No. Is the fat chick portrayed with respect and dignity? Nope. Nobody is given the star treatment in this game, and again I think that was intentionally done that way to make people less inclined to participate in the activities the game offers.

Which brings us to an interesting juxtaposition. The game is structured such that you don't want to fuck the tranny. You don't want to have sex with the fat chick. You don't want to sit on that dildo on the train. But the horny meter makes it mandatory to have sex with -something- or you'll die. There are achievements for performing all of the various acts. It sets up a conflict between your gamer mentality and your views on sex or the groups being portrayed.

I came to this conclusion, admittedly, based pretty much only on the fact that the game tracks EVERYTHING you do, and Calunio has been analysing the save data sent to him to identify trends and correlations. I've heard some of the results and it's actually quite interesting, but it's not my place to discuss that side of it.

Anyone who says Calunio was trolling or didn't intend to make the game the way it is are, I feel, underestimating the amount of work and doublethink that went into it. I honestly think you're all doing exactly what he wanted you to.

Map Linking Help?

To be honest I think you should leave it as-is; it would be hilarious if a group of squirrels ran across the screen every time you left the house.

Having trouble kickstarting my plot...

You could flip the situation on its head if you wanted, assuming the kid is kind of from the wrong side of the tracks anyway, and have him starting out trying to reluctantly steal some food from one of the members because he's starving (not realising the guy's a thief himself).

He's caught, obviously, but said member decides to have some fun and see if he can turn this hopeless little kid into a proper thief.

Return of the write-off contest

I don't think we've ever done this on RMN before, but I used to have a blast with these on the MS Paint Adventures forums and figured I'd see if I can't bring the popularity back here.

Here's how it's going to work: we need three volunteers to provide the theme, the characters, and the setting (if you provide one of these things you can't participate in the contest). These will all be PMed to the person running the write-off (me) and I will post all requirements at once when the contest begins.

Once the theme, characters and setting are known, people can post saying they want to be a contestant. The first two people to do so will be the "official" contestants. Other people can submit entries but they will not be considered official for the purposes of the contest (I will post unofficial entries when official voting ends).

Both participants will write their story incorporating the given theme/characters/setting, and PM their entries to me. I will then post them both at the same time. At this point anyone can vote on which entry was their favourite.

The entry with most votes will win, and the writer of the entry will carry on as the current write-off champion to participate in the next event against a new challenger.

I've probably made it sound more complex than it actually is, so if anyone has any questions please let me know. If you're interested in participating in this, please post here so I have an idea of how receptive the community would be to an event like this.

(Also no achievements or avatars unless someone else can provide them unfortunately, but I can do an RGSS/RGSS2/RGSS3 script request for the winners or something.)

CLOSAT - T is for Theme

Lib, I've been without internet since I was moving house. Think you could give me a couple more days to do the last two parts?

How do I add enemies, in a battle during a battle (RMVX)

Oh hold the phone, this is VX. For some retarded reason you can't have skills that turn a switch on any more.

Have the skill call a common event that turns the switch on instead.
