author=InfectionFilesPretty much agree, excluding FFXIII ofcourse! *innocent face*
If the beginning comes off bad or poorly designed then that leaves a pretty bad impression of what is to come.

"Final Fantasy" games - Creative outlet or derivative drivel?
I was ready to come galavanting in here to defend my remake of FF7, but I see there's a disclaimer excusing remakes so nevermind that.
As far people who tend to "brand" their own original games as Final Fantasy, I kind of agree with both sides at the same time. Its kind of a why and why not issue. Some people just grow up loving Final Fantasy and when they find out they can make something in the vein of what they love, thats exactly what they do. The flip side of the coin is that people in that demographic are usually the least qualified to undertake such a task. I think the only time I consider it completely inappropriate is when all the FF staples are ignored (chocobos, Cid, steampunk) - the exception being Moogles as they seem to only be in 1/2 or so of them.
@JosephSeraph: You've pretty much described exactly what I'm working on so you'll be in for a treat when the demo comes out. :)

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!
author=MagiYeah, thats a real screenshot. I've been working on this on and off for a while, I recently resumed work and started drawing the graphics so I could produce gameplay. Here's an older vid of the custom systems:
Also Vanit, are you really making FFVII-2d
author=GameOverGames ProductionsIn its present form it doesn't really appeal to me. But if you could add some drawing tools like rectangles and circles, it would be VERY useful. At the moment to get my circles just right I draw lowres, pixelated ones in photoshop.
fancy shmancy <canvas> stuff

Trying to get keypresses to work right for FireFox is annoying the heck out of me.

You're right in saying its nigh impossible for anyone to continue working on the battle system as I haven't included any of my documentation that details what does what.
The menu on the otherhand is good to go (and what you quoted refered to the menu) and I've provided high level events that when parsed the right parameters will do all the nasty work for you (adding party members, items, materia, etc), and I'm contactable by email should someone need clarification on its use - but I don't see it as likely that someone with the know-how would want to use someone else's cms, so its kind of paradoxical there. I've mostly just provided the code as proof of concept, and as a case item should anyone want to see what the backend of an insanely complicated cms looks like.
Thanks for the congrats though. :)
