I made this site and it's awesome. But I don't run it anymore. Now I'm just a plebe like you.

Mog, the problem with supporting all these script kiddies' hacks is that there's really no uniform way in which they injected their garbage.

I'd say WolfCoder shouldn't worry about maintaining compatibility with them. It's a better design to implement the real RM2k3 engine and then expand from there in a sensible manner.

KA, stop being a twat. "RPG Maker 20XX" doesn't imply it has compatibility with RM2k and RM2k3. If that was the case it would be "RPG Maker 200X". There is no statement it has to live up to.

how on earth are you getting 1.4 MILLION polygons?

RMN3 Bugs (v2)

kentona, if possible you should either merge my stuff into ankylo's branch or vice versa so we can make sure things are all up to date.

thanks rpgmaker . net for providing game hosting for the masses

Here's the big problem with a user-based system. The best has to be good enough to try and make people forget about the worst. The worst is how something is judged.

You want a free and open submission system? That's fine. Prepare to be flooded with pure filth coming out of numerous teenage nerd hands.

WHOA WAIT LOOK AT ALL THESE SHITTY GAMES. We need to improve our standards! Okay, so what do you do with all that filth that is still there?

"Well we shouldn't purge it but make better stuff"

However you are still judged on that filth. It is still there. People dwell on it.

You cannot have an open system that is all quality. That isn't how open works. You want quality, you have to go with "elitism". There has to be a gatekeeper who judges what is and isn't quality and then only allows quality through.

What makes something quality differs greatly between people. People who agree with the gatekeeper stick around and those that don't, tend to leave.

tl;dr, you guys need to figure out if you want to have elitism + quality or openness + less quality. There is no inbetween. This site's history is evidence of it.

Im going cos your sites shit.

To my friends who want to know....
I received a lot of jealousy when I entered Rpgmaker.net the other day.
When i arrived, i posted a link to utube to show off my game. One of the mods made a snide remark about the game and i asked "What do you mean". Then another moderator locked the post saying I couldnt ask that and moved my forum post to the 'idiot corner' (or some nonsense like that). It was evident that they were jealous of my game because at first they were asking for a copy via private messages, when i said i wasnt posting my game on their website it greatly angered them....So they wouldnt let me post and altered all the posts I made, turning them into evil, vindictive posts, making out that I posted them, which is childish and sick behaviour.
Now they are coming on my page here leaving me disgusting comments.

Sometimes I wish people would actually say this stuff because the site database keeps track of it and I would love to show the data.

RMN3 Bugs (v2)

I removed the file pass-through for game downloads. It used to do some trickery to protect against hotlinking but would gobble up memory. So now it just uses a special redirect and pathing stuff.

I also fixed game logos on profiles so they are actually usable.

RMN3 Bugs (v2)

You must have missed the part where I said:

"I will keep fixing bugs"

which is exactly what I did after the server exploded to try and stop it from exploding any further.

EDIT: Either way, I'll stop touching it. There are just a couple changes I made that should easily be merged into your repo.

RMN3 Bugs (v2)

You have commit rights to the code and media repositories. Committing to them is all that is needed for the updater to work when it is ran.
