Just move the balls into the arrows so that the arrows look clearer, but the rest of the screen looks OK. Do you really need the move list on the screen the whole time? Madou Monogatari for the Genesis lets you see the move list, but you don't need it once you remember what the moves are and the battle screens are much less crowded.

Yeah. It does now that I think of it. Shining Force used 24x24 sprites and heavy contrast colors.
