Have you ever stopped to think that you've been pirating RM2k this entire time? And that Rm2k3 was an expansion that you have also pirated? If that's your mindset, at *least* pirate RMVX when it gets out.

It's about getting the community excited about a new engine -- there are new tricks that we have access to and it might be easier to implement our old tricks. If learning how to code would become a standard expectation in the community, the impact would be enormous. Furthermore, flexibility in basic areas such as changing game resolution affects the way that we can look at making a game from the most fundamental level.

You make a valid point but I have a strong feeling there will be anti-piracy measures against the new RPG maker (like registering with an online server). If I do manage to get a copy legally or otherwise, I'd certainly use it. XD

I appreciate your desire to motivate the community again If we can get to the heights of when Don released RM2000 translated or even beyond that then it'd be awesome.

I did get that feeling of "I need to make a game out of this" when I tried the trail so I'm hyped as a lot of other people. I might not be showing any indication of that though lol.

keep going up

It's easy to tell if his/her keyboard is messed up. Just open up a program that uses the arrow keys and see what happens. If the problem persists in there then obviously it's the keyboard.

I do have a feeling it might be a hardware conflict but I can't tell from a few words on the screen.

::)

I still prefer RM2k3. It's not that I'm attached to it or anything but the fact that I can make my game on older machines like the one I'm using right now makes it more practical. Of course you could say why do you get a better PC? Truth is I don't exactly have the money right now for that. :P Plus getting RPG VX the legit way would set me back more dosh so yeah if I had the money, I'd jump onto RPG VX any day. Still, personally I find the graphics a bit out of sorts. Other people will like it I know but that's my opinion on the matter.

What really makes me want to use RPG VP is the running button lol! I struggled to get a working code in RM2k3 and gave up shortly after that so that's all good.

Release Something! Day [Dec 24th] - Sign Up Thread

Heh. I'm so tied up with uni I didn't even start any game making. I haven't slacked off though, I'm working on the story and what stuff to add in. I don't think I'm gonna finish this game for at least another year!

However, seeing as though I might have free time next week, I'll sign up but I don't promise anything substantial.

Generica - [RMVX..?]

I'm not very good at the creative side of things but I can help with any minor stuff like palette swapping, research (lol) etc. I've also been reading all the posts here so I know what's going on (a bit). :P
Just a question though, as a rough estimate when will you start actually making the game? 4 months down the line I suppose?

I love the running system! Hopefully this shows up on European shores. Will the US version work on EU (UK) PCs?

EDIT: Forget I said that. :P

To me, reviews should only be made when a game is completed. You often won't find much potential in a demo or something like that.

Can I just comment that even full games are sometimes unplayable. The game maker might oversee some things like overpowered enemies, serious glitches (after beta testing) etc.

Have you read my first and only review on um..some game. I think it was Ketona's but yeah I want criticism so I can improve and do more reviews and gain in confidence. At the moment, I dread people like Gadreel.

EDIT: Found it!

Tell me what you think. Do I have the stuff to be a regular reviewer or not? :P

Offset avatars???

Has this topic turned into "favourite browser" topic!? I'll pitch in. Firefox is my choice because it was the first internet browser I used apart from IE and I loved it. Used Opera, Netscape and even AOL but they all lack in something I can't put my finger on.

This site sucks

Yeah...

Also your sig sucks man. ::)
