Oh sorry I;m using RPG Maker 2003. Right now I have it so that the character is constantly moving to the right. However at certain point I want it so that when you hit a key he'll jump. To use it to jump over gaps and such. So I have a Parallel process with a move event: hero, step right. But when I'm doing that it ignores everything else. And I'm a noob so I'm not sure exactly how I would set up a conditional branch like that. Thanks.
I'm not sure you're a noob per say but have you had a look at games that use these sorts of features? After you work around with VerifyedRasta's code, try games like Fenrir: First Operation (open it up in RPGMaker and hunt down the part for that particular scrolling bit). I'm sure you'll do this eventually with trial and error (as I did. :P).

Thanks ankylo. If you don't mind me asking, what antivirus (if any) are you running on your Mini 9? Atm, I use F-Secure and I still have the license for that but it's become a resource hog. Thanks once again.

AFTERMATH - Version 0.5 (PROJECT HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR A LONG TIME) Review
drakiyth, you really should just stop feeding that thing under the bridge.
It's interesting to see two completely opposite reviews for the same game so I'll definitely try your game out as soon as finish a couple of other RM games I'm playing atm.

The large chunks of text hurt my eyes so I justified them. Nice review although I haven't played Fallout so I may enjoy it more. Thanks for taking the time to post this!

Name of game maker? If it's RPGMaker 2000/03 then I guess you'd use conditional branching. What did you try so far?

If all these traditional-style amateur RPGs seemed as promising as say, Hero's Realm, then it would be fine. But they're NOT, and barely meet Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest as a benchmark.
I seriously don't think Hero's Realm surpasses FF: MQ (no offense to Kentona). I actually like FF: MQ a lot and see your post as making it seem it's some trashy game when it's not. Also, how can you expect people that usually work alone on a game to produce commercial-quality games? I know there a few that are worthy of being retail-packed but do people really aim for these standards? If they do, they often shy away from the huge challenge or pretend it never existed (eg. that Zelda OoT 2D game).

Samsung NC10 Netbook
I've been eyeing a laptop for about a year now and I originally was going for a Dell Inspiron 1720 but I got it cancelled after 2 months of waiting for it to be made by Dell. I've placed an order on a Samsung NC10 which seems okay for it's price. It's a netbook so I can do stuff on the go but obviously it's not a high-spec gaming machine.
I was wondering if anyone else has this netbook or the other Atom CPU netbooks out there and if they use RPGMaker XP and VX on it? How well does it run?
The main specs for the one I ordered:
* Intel Atom 1.6Ghz Dual Core Processor
* 1Gb DDR2 Ram
* Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics
* Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Operating System
I think I can place another 1GB RAM in there although I really don't want to spend more money right now.
