What are you working on now?

Debuggin and debugging...
It's all that stand between me and game completion.

Cooldowns

Final Fantasy IV DS has the opposite approach or what to say. Instead there's the casting time before executing depending on the power of the spell or summon.

This is more widely used than just FFIVDS, but that was the first I came to think of.

Have you ever bought a console for a single game?

I got Playstation 2 for Metal Gear Solid 2 mainly.
And I got Playstation 3 for just Metal Gear Solid 4.

Of course that's just how it started out. Now I got a a few more games than that.

You could always use this: http://rpgmaker.net/tutorials/128/

That produces guards, the only problem being that they can technically "see through" objects, but you can get around this through smart use of variables and switches.

I'd be interested in knowing exactly what solution you have in mind. I've instead tried to adapt the environment in my ongoing game.

The Worlds Hardest Game!

I've reached Level 23/30 with 1111 deaths! This is a REAL deathtrap! T_T

Lowering your standards and finishing your game

Well I DID finish a game before, although it was pretty small.
Otherwise my current project COULD be considered "finished". It's just a matter of polishing it up a bit (a big bit actually).

I can recall a few things that turned out differently, but overall not much was cut from the resulting product.
Most that was left out was to be considered impossible in the game engine (rm2k3). Although, I did try to recreate it as much as possible.

What are you working on now?

I get too careless in test runs. Really funny when I get far without saving just to realize I found a game breaker(I thought they were extinct!?).

What are you working on now?

Debugging. Yeesh! When you think you've fixed it all you get another bunch of it thrown in the face.
Hopefully there's not too much left to be done before you guys can sink your teeth into it yourselves.

Sozora's Labyrinth

This strongly reminds me of Touhou Project.
If it's a direct inspiration I wonder if it shares the difficulty.

Why RPG and not action adventure?

Might have something to do with there being more room to cram in strategy in battles, compared to action adventure where movement is also a factor.

Well, I'm actually making an action adventure sort-of-game in rm2k3. Since it's stretching the borders outside of the engine's original purpose, I do sense the limitations and the extra work. Still won't stop me from finishing though.
