Clash of the portrait styles!
Two versions of the same game just for a change on the art style? That's silly! ...If anything, why not just include in the same download a separate carpet with the FE/custom portraits, so anyone can dump them into the game at wish. Or make that an actual in-game option...
Also, not trying to be an ass here, but you've already been given some directions on what's wrong with your art and how to fix it. I mean, you're just a few simple Photoshop edits away from better results. Big heads? Resize. Slatend bodys? Rotate. Clean lineart? Pen tool... If you were really concerned about this, you'd go over it right away, instead of waiting six months to do it.
Also, guys, this ain't a chat you know? ...My poor notices just got flooded with you little convo. xP

I think that's silly. If the game ends up being commercial, then pull it off. Or rather, keep a demo available here... Hey, demos are free!
It would be dishonest only if you keep using this game profile as the main page for the game once it goes commercial, or if you're actively trying to trick people into believing the full game is free... But I'm fairly certain that people finding out about your game from here won't really mind if you're "mooching off" exposure. I know I wouldn't.

April Showers bring A DECIDED LACK OF "WITTY" TITLES
Well, it's nice to hear you're progressing well with the game. Just the improvements between those screens are definitively palpable; Those bars are looking really neat. Are they drawn by the script itself, btw? Or it involves pictures? *knows nothing about scripts*
Anyway, one thing that I don't quite like about the new menu are those huge boxes to the side. I see they're kind of a recurrent thing, and it just look clumsy. I mean, why do they need to be so big for such a small amount of text? And why exactly determines what is shown in them? Are AGI and DEX linked or something? I think it would be better if the bars took most of the screen's length and you were to add a short description of each stat with a small font, above or below each bar...
But that's no big deal, I guess. I'm just here on my usual nitpicking rounds. xP

Yet another art update.
These look very good. Eliza's concept art seems specially very well detailed... but the same problems as from old drawing persist. (Head a tad too big, slight slant forward) Once you work these out, you'll be set. Also, you should probably work on your profiles a bit too; they look funny. I guess it's the (lack of?) lips.

Man, this is looking real sweet! I agree with Happy, levels 3 and 5 seem to be the most interesting ones so far. 5 because of the mines; And I wonder what's the gimmick gonna be on 3... To keep things as quiet as possible, perhaps?

The Tileset Saga Chapter II: Revenge of The Tiles
Mmmh, I don't know... The first time I saw those chibis I didn't mind them much because, like you mentioned, the whole thing was more of an abstraction. (Charas + Static BG + Dungeon map) Yes, the idea was rough, but it was good. However, with these cartoony tiles, it just feels sort of childish to me. I Can't quite put together in my mind this new cutesy style with the creepy imagery you tend to use. =/
