ATASUKE10'S PROFILE

I liked to make games as a hobby during my freetime and it slowly developed into what I like to do most. I'm still in improvement, as everyone else so my products may not be perfect, but I want them to be :D
Crimson Shift
You control an Assassin trying to break free and learn the truth. You can help her, or take her down a different path.

War of Existence

I've played the first 15 minutes for now, will play more but I want to share my first impression :)
The dialogue at the start (convo between soldier and the other guy) had some typos in it and got me a bit confused.
The setting and the choice of music for said setting is really nice, it got me immersed :D.
Since it's so early I can't judge the characters yet so I'll pass on that.
While the art is not 10/10, the effort put into making said art fit into the
game and add something nice to it is something I really appreciate. Even if it's
not perfect, the art gives it some sort of perfection. Even the girl kneeling down
checking a guard has an expressive drawing to it, I can't ignore that.
The combat... well... i killed 1 monster and I liked it so I can't tell yet.
I'm still wrapping my head around the maps, as I'll see more I'll have an opinion :D I'll comment when I played more.
Keep up the good work.

wah this is a very good game! I really liked the whole system of fear and seals and stuff, plus this game gives off a sense of exploration though I'm not sure if that's intended.
the story line is fine for a short game, and I'm really looking forward to the next game, perhaps you should play around more with the concept of a fear system?
Overall a nice game, I would give it a 3.8 star, thanks for the hard work!

Whoa thanks you so much!
I'm glad you enjoyed it that much :D
The fear system itself was easy to make but the spawning system for the thing made me tear my hair out :P.

Fun game. I liked how you get rewarded for exploring with calming drugs and flashbacks, haha.

Also, nice mapping skills.

Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
That was the idea xd put something in each house to encourage going in.

Random thoughts
good intro

should change the "lvl" on the status screen to age.
and make a custom menu that removes all unneeded features like status, equip ect

i hate plots like this so much...and people wonder why anyone could hate humans...unreal...
but...its pretty satisfying seeing this village rot :D

oh kick out of the village? they just said kick before...i thought they wanted to physically beat the crap out of the girls from the way the cutscene with the mayor worded it

General 45M+
Honestly,i am not a fan of horror games as the overly "dark" situations and themes
often found in them. blow my mind how people can call it a master piece.
This game however has the right amount of depressing and positive things to make it a great game.
generally speaking, that is to say design wise i have no complaints whats so ever! :D
there were a couple minor improvements to be made. but...

Overall
I highly recommend this game!

Thank your for your kind words!
I'm happy you enjoyed it so much, it always gives me inspiration to make more
games when people enjoy them :))
I'll be making the hud simpler soon(tomorrow since its finally weekend) i was just too busy this week to fix anything :P

Red Syndrome

I went into this game and then the title screen looked at me, I already knew it was going to be good.
Usually I'm not a fan of front battle system but the way you made it with her standing there doing all the action, it actually got to me.
The map mechanics and the way you repelled the fog was pretty fun, it made me feel like the damn syndrome is cornering me (even had to sacrifice a level once)
The bosses each were pains in the butts. But not the bad kind. Those are the kind of fights I imagine when I see a boss fight.
Each of them required a specific strategy against them.
While the mapping itself wasn't a big deal for me, I know the tileset you worked with doesn't offer that much, but it still managed to make me feel into it.
The custom art blew my mind away. Don't know if the monsters were custom art, but the art of the characters were really pretty.
Though I didn't care for them that much as characters, the gameplay kept me going plenty.
The skill usage felt very fluid too, that's probably one of the reasons the game felt so good to play for me. (Even managed to grind a little, when normally i absolutely LOATHE it.)
I had a great time with this game. :)
Keep it up.

I find that with character development, it's easier if you have a relatable character, or if your character is nonhuman, give them something to sympathize with.

For example, it was hard to sympathize or care much about Une's surroundings because of the way she lightly dismissed the death of others, even going so far as to say she was glad some of them died. Is there some traumatic event that happened that caused her to make light of human lives? If so, hint to it, give Une more dimensions that make her feel more human, more like someone the player could see themselves as and sympathize with.

Why does she hate being pitied? Is it because she feels like being pitied = being looked down upon? If so, then from where does this hatred come from? (There must have been something in her past that made her change from feeling gratitude to feeling annoyance. People aren't born knowing that being pitied is something bad. I, for one, would happily welcome the free food.)

You did really well for a first game, and the game overall has a very polished feel :) As for the story, try writing out the storyline in flowchart format and writing down what Une's actions in/responses to that event were, and try to list what motives she may have had. Also, you might want to fix that one note in the church ;) Good luck!

It's actually the second game but the first one is like 20 minutes long without much gameplay, so I didn't feel like it's a game I should put up here.
But might as well call it my first because this is the first where I had to synchronize gameplay with story and characters whereas thatwas just story and characters.

I actually really like the way you described tracing back her motives, I should make a habit of that as well as the flowchart. I used to really dislike doing it for unknown reasons, but as I started planning out the next short, It helps way more than I thought it would :)
And damn that note I even forgot about
I'll patch it asap xd
Anyway you helped me a lot so thank you! :D

Crimson Light Review

Thank you for the feedback!
I greatly appreciate it :)
Even though I take pride in the story itself (while I'm aware her background is not exactly original) I can see the points you demonstrated there and how I could've executed it way better.
These shorts are sort of an experience gather for me and this review gave me plenty to think / improve.
I guess I can trust my sense for music and the slowly but surely improving art.
I guess in terms of presenting the story I still have more to improve on.
With character development, I didn't get it right this time for some reason, it makes me slightly sad and I'd really like to improve it even post publishing, but once it has a certain foundation in the game, my mind just wants to build on that.
Maybe in the next game. :)

Quite a fun game. I really liked the sword mechanic - gave power to the character.
I do have a question however:
There is a house in the woods with a locked door that I was unable to unlock. Is it possible to somehow unlock it?

PS. Removed other questions after finding the answers from ExtremeDevelopment's gameplay videos.

No sadly you can't, That one house, there's no way to open :D
Sorry :P

Submitted review~ I'm going to replay this to reevaluate the mechanics, though, since you say you fixed the bugs.

Alright, i'm looking forward to it :)
I hope I didnt create more bugs with this thing though :P
