That looks awesome except for the fact that there's a huge mushroom there. I took be a while to notice, but once I did, all I could think of was Smurfville or whatever that town is called.

You're not going to BELEIVE how long it took to get those freaking lights right. Remember, RM2k3 here...Just got to be careful not to overuse it now we've got it working!
And as for the hair, it was intentional. We had a team meeting about spriting in which someone INSISTED they be different cause they liked Fire Emblem. If its a color, someone in those games has it for hair.

I do love how you put the pieces together though. It looks great, but I think the palette needs to be evened out, the number of shades of green needs to be reduced, and the whole thing needs to be unified a little bit (right now you can easily tell which parts are and aren't meant to go together)
...Yeah. Hashing together those plants was probably a bad idea, but it'll get thinned out as things go on. May have been a bot overzealous :D. Im just worried about making things look too cartoony if i lower the number of greens too far. Hopefully I can find a happy medium.
And as for that black, yeah. Dark green coming right up. I think they have the shade i just dumped in there Sequoia Grove or something. It's an Olympic Paint color I think.

Uh. Pretty sure it wasn't a "Who has time for indy games?" so much as a "Keep the player interested."
For example, you can usually tell if a book is going to be good or not by flipping to page 40 and seeing if you're interested. That's not always true, but if you've got a dull opening, no matter how many times you say, "But wait, cause chapter 27 is AWESOME" people aren't gonna make it.

From past experience, Mr. McGee does not do things by halves. He probably gives things a much more through playthrough than most people.
