How long have you been working on your game?

post=105161
Where did my life go? I don't even have anything to show for those two years!

Same here, okay, not the entire truth, I've already shown some screens, but there's nothing playable I could provide.

I've been working on my game for one year until I've cancelled it, and so I was going to create a new one. I thought that would be the better way, and it was really better, but only in one case: All my graphics get better looking because I could improve my graphical skills. Also, my scripts were better (I've learned much more about programming via Java, that was quite helpful) , too, but I also had to realize that I put to much stress on my scripts and graphics so that my game became a -too hard to end it- thing when I would ever try to finish it. So after all that crap I started, I decided to make a new game again, further with custom graphics, but without one fact wich was ever a pain: A complex story.

To answer the topic's question:
I spent one year of my time on my actual main project.

Leckmuscheln

Or is that Klingon?

Deacon and me are Spartan, kentona.

Leckmuscheln

Fein, dass Du auch noch meinen alten Nick kennst. (;

However, licking mussel would be the literal translation, but candy shell sounds better.

Leckmuscheln

Leckmuscheln? How about licking mussel?

Heißt der Krempel echt Leckmuscheln? oO

Idraw, Question.

I know what you mean, Liberty, but this is not the point I was writing about. With saving I meant to click ctrl+s, not restarting the program after saving itself.

Idraw, Question.

@Blue:
Yeah, this problem is well known. You can't copy an image selection between two Idraw windows, and there are two reasons: 1st reason ist the error that you got, that happens everytime, IMO. 2nd is that Idraw only supports 8bit colourdepth, so the 2nd image doesn't adopt the first image's colours.

This dib error is a an error in Idraw's source code, I guess there is no way to solve that. Only thing that can keep down that problem is when you save your pic frequently (at least that was my impression). Maybe it would be better if you use another program, I can really recommend Graphics Gale.

Importing pictures without setting a transparency?

post=101700
I think Rm2k3 will automatically choose certain colours to be transparent if none is selected.

Both use the first colour in the image's index, thus the #0. I know, some folks think the maker itself uses the colour black for transparency, but this is not right. It's always #0 of its colour index, only some graphic programs can use another possibilitys, and this one doesn't work in our maker.

SHOW ME YOUR SCREENSHOTS - Fall Edition

Most of those screenshots are pretty lousy, actually...

Yo, highly praised screenies in German RM coms are absolutely lousy.

The last pic wasn't one of them, surely.

@Lennon:
The 5th is just a concept, 7th is crap in my eyes.

anybody have

a zombie sprite is easy to make, take a normal char, and dye its skin colour to a pretty bright one. then edit the clothes so that the char goes in rags. working time < 1hour.

i don't have one, unfortunately.

@Ocean:
Fantastic old style, some tiles there look like Startropics 2 graphics, right? I really like that because everything fits together very well.

@nickad:
Nice colours, nice screen, but I gotta say that the pic doesn't impress me highly... anyway. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your self made style. Certainly I miss something there, maybe it's just to flat. How about a higher coloured sky? Like a just past sunset or anything.

--------------------------

Some of my stuff for an old styled game; self pixeled (why do I mention this everytime?). I tried to mix it with a 'modern' dither style, and I have to say that I like it myself. Err... it's an anecdote to the NES game Mighty Final Fight. =P
