Im not sure if you want it to scroll down or right ... but I would just make a super sized picture with all the text included and then get it to slowly scroll in the direction you want.... ? any good

no probs Ive figured a way round it
idea 1: turn the area into a character sprite (so i can set it to "ABOVE")
idea 2: same as above but picture instead of char

I need your help..... Ive been making character set's for rpg xp 6x bigger than the norm
the problem when I edit the tile set's they can only overlap 5 block's away from the character
example if I walk past a wall that's supposed to completely block the character's veiw you can still see the top of the character's head I basicly need the Priority to go to a maximum of 6 i nstead of 5
if noody knows how tyo fix this I could make the characer a lil smaller but Ill lose 20% quality
anyway if anyone can help that would be great

Ill alway's love the FF genre but Im always expecting a multi costume change but it never happen's :(

how do you make a side scrolling game? with rpg maker 2000/2003
Yea true it would be hard to pull it off but about the tiles there's a script that set the movement to inch by inch instead of tile by tile so that will sort that out
about the level design Ill start with the basic's o set make a standard level with to ledge' to jump on
make the GameOver event and copy n paste em onto the area's where you die.....
then make a conditional brance set x to jump 2 spaces left right up down (for all the direction's)
and remember your going to have to create at least 5 character set's for the diff action's
Im pretty sure that's all you need to do.....
Im currently sorting that out for my game.. so Ill upload a video showing how it's working....
