Hi
Welcome to RMN, SW! And happy Canadian Thanksgiving! Yes, the GIMP is good ... although I have been using Paint.net a lot lately instead.

I just realized my game will not be politically correct. Is this a problem?
Just put a disclaimer and you're good to go.
Is it just me that absolutely loathes random battles?
Loathe is a very strong qualifier. Cringe @ better describes my love-hate relationship with random battles.

Still owes me money :-) 2 of my screenshots are still on the main kickstarter page. Since then the game has switched engines and graphics.
SS, are those two next to bottom screenies yours? They look nice.
I suspect the average kickstarter user is by no means a venture capitalist and more like an angel investor. He/she doesn't focus on ROI (does use the rewards reaped by funding to determine the amount) but rather than growth, isn't doing much on the due diligence front, probably bases their funding decision more on the subjective than objective (more on feel than facts) and has a relatively high tolerance for risk vs. reward.
Then again, for the most part, we are talking about tens, maybe hundreds of $ at stake rather thousands or even millions.

Yes, I want to be like both (kentona and ankylo) of them if I ever grow up!
I wholeheartedly agree with Libby on the first two points and her proposal. Regarding checking them from the front page, I actually do check them from there. I have never accessed them from the Blog option under the Games portal. Having the most recent blogs visible does help me follow some games that I'm on the fence about whether to subscribe to them or not ...

- Putting them in precedence would encourage more blog spammage and worse blog practices just to get advertising on the front page.
- Other written information is more content heavy so deserves to be seen more than blogs. That is, the information, length and such is actually checked by someone so they've more quality control - hence, more deserving of being shown off.
- Blogs are inherently personal pieces, not for everyone. They focus only on the games they're written about, not on external information like scripts, articles and the like.
- Does anyone even check them from the front page? Especially when there's already a sub-heading devoted to them from the Game Portal.
I do propose a change to them, though, in order to make them better and more relevant. Perhaps something like a Best of Blogs spot that gets changed each week or certain days? That way the best ones get to the front page (encouraging good blog use and practices) and also have some quality control applied to them in some form.

It depends ... If the battles happen too often, are repetitive, dull/boring (melee attack only/one turn kills), unnecessarily easy or hard, or, can't be run away from, then count me in! Otherwise my range of reactions can vary from liking to tolerating.

Wow, that´s some quick success! Looks you'll be funded pretty quickly (Fingers crossed that I'm not jinxing it). I wonder who'll be willing to pay for the upper tiers to get the privilege of developing along side you guys. I actually think that offering that's a neat idea, although it probably reduces the pool of donors willing to assume the additional responsibility.
Lol @ the Broncos V.S. the Jaguars game this weekend
That was a snoozer! (Didn't actually get to see it, since I had no electricity.) The Red Sox-Tigers game, on the other hand, instant classic. Go Sox!

Thirty thousand is what it is, unless it isn't a base 10 number. And the Euro is not vague like the $ sign (U.S., Canadian, ...). Then again, ZERO is always the same, anyway you cut it. I guess nobody has been gullible enough to fund the project yet. So we aren't the only ones seeing something troublesome about it ...
