Thank you very much^^
Have now putted in another tileset (well part tileset... Many unfinished ones.
Sorry for that XD)
And two autotiles.

Also been thinking to perhaps release my old template that was made for the same game as these tilesets.
You can see the template dressed here.

These look like RTP edits, except that they don't seem to actually use any part of the RTP. Did you make these from scratch to fit alongside the RTP? They're really good.

They are made from scratch :)
I made them back when I used the rmxp so made them to fit it.

Ellenor give away her old stuff.

Well I had some tilesets I made back in 2006 - 2008
The tilests has just been collecting dust since they never got used so I decided to release them.
Free for none commercial use. But would be nice to know the game if you use anything^^
For commercial use of any of the stuff... Well just contact me.
I probably will only want some info of the game ^^

But please enjoy

Valcarta I: Rise of the Demon

I have to agree to above's comments. When you are using a engine as rpg maker to make a commercial game it has to stand out among freeware games, if not why would people buy a game that is one among hundreds of similar ones that are free to play?

This is fine when it is none commercial. Like a hobby project to learn how to use the
software properly.

As commercial you need to walk some extra miles...
> Custom, custom and more custom! I may sound like a douche here but I believe people want to see new things. These tilesets and characters has been seen too many times in other games.
At least frankensprite them. Same with tilesets, you can create new looking ones using the ones provided if you don't got the artist skills to create complete new ones.
>Learn to map properly.
The maps are way too big and open and to be blunt, boring.
Play around with the engine! look at references! Maybe even take the opportunity
to learn some parallex mapping?

When it comes to maps take some time to look at "The Starstealing prince"
This is a freeware game that is so good that it could be commercial.
Go to amaranth games and download a demo of "Aveyond the lord of twiligt."

They maybe are not 100% custom in the graphic department but they frankensprite, mix tilesets, and proper plan and map their game + an engaging story to follow.

So play more games and take notes!
I don't say you should not go commercial but go the extra mile!
Good luck!

thank you :D

More work in progress...

Haha thank you guys. ^^

About the tables well. I kinda like them like that haha but I can understand not everyone would like them, Will try to reduce the thickness a little :) the wall is actually thicker than the black outline as it is only the inside of the wall then you got bricks etc on the outside that makes it thicker. Maybe I should increase the size of the black outline to show it is thicker?

Well the sketch stage take me around 1 hour for a full room with the details and so on, that stage is what you see here.
After that comes the coloring stage that is the most time consuming part, though I have some technique to reduce that time as well. so around 2 hours I guess?
then I may waste some additional time with lighting, shadows additional details etc.
(note, I create some things in maya then redrawn them in photoshop to get the perspective right.)

And about the progress, sure I could record while I'm drawing to show you how I'm doing this step by step.
Would you want from the beginning or just from sketch stage to finish product?

Oh thank god I can relax a little with the updates XD

More work in progress...

Think I need to raise the bar counter a little.

evolve_of_the_artstyle.jpg

Same character... But the more anime like one were made last year. The only black and white one were done a around 2 weeks ago. (Damn I need to finish him later...)

ruby.jpg

Well the artstyle is more realistic now than then. This drawing is from over 1 year ago when I just started working on the game. Just felt a pity for her picture to just be there on the hardrive though. :)

making_the_city.jpg

The start of the making of the city walls. Getting some use of the knowledge I gained during the 2 years as a game artist in college.

For the note. The game is not in 3d but I'm making the landscape in maya. Since I can rotate the building 360 degrees; and therefor create a more appealing map ( at least for me. :P )
