Is you game running on unity engine? Will everything to be in 3D?


No it wont be. The characters and monsters will be 3d models.
But the gameworld will be painted. :)

So, are you still using these sprites? Since you've been showing 3D models I'm a bit confused.


No I'm not. After the transfer to unity Cassio (the programmer) And I discussed about it and decided to go for 3d models. Since I can colour them like my concept art of the characters they will still melt into the drawed backgrounds. And since they can turn 360 deegres I don't need to draw the backgrounds in a specific way to make them fit the sprites angels. ^^

I didn't play the game so I can't do much else than guess what is going on.
But I believe the bell in the town is ringing since the town is in danger?

So I just made a sample of what may sound better.
"Didn’t you hear the bell?! The town is in chaos, we need to leave now!"

Other ways to put it, that is more close to what is in the current ddialogue.

"Didn’t you hear the bell?! They are telling us to leave the town!"

My English is by no means perfect. But I still think this would be a bit better^^

I think you should get someone who knows English grammar to help you, by checking and edit your dialogues.

Project moved to Unity

Any specifics on why or what limits you ran into and what Unity offers? I am curious (plus I've never used Unity)


Well one was the collision in rpg maker vx ace. it became very troublesome to try to make a new way for it to work.
Also the resolution can not become higher than 640/480 without going against the agreement of the engine.

As well with unity the project can be formed exactly as we wish.
there is no limit to it^^
Of course the downside is that most basic things has to be programmed.
So right now the programmer is making that the map system, dialouge etc is working properly.
After that he will work on the stats. and so on.
But when we both working more or less full time on the game we hope it wont be too long before we can show some kind of gameplay haha.

This is from my current project. A small side project to take a rest from my other project Dragunbane.
This game is being developed in rpg maker vx ace.
Everything you see in the screenshot is made by me :)
the characters got 6 frames walk cycle + running so far ^^
Have been thinking to submit the project but I'm a very shy person XD


I'm curious as to I have never used any of the main makers since rm95, what isometric perspective are you using? does ace natively support isometric chip sets and characters similar to nrm2k or is that some kind of panorama and if so is that one picture or many pictures?


No rpg maker vx ace does not support it natively. Also it is not a chipset but a drawed map.So all the maps does not have the same isometric view.
But how it works, a friend of mine is currently helping me to script a new collision system to make it work properly like in saga frontier 2. At the moment it dosen't unfourtnetly.

Is this possible?

First of. I doubt strongly that mutiplayer is possible in rpg maker 2003. Since it dosen't have a scripting language like rmxp - vx and ace. But instead relays on events to create new systems.

I've heard mutiplayer however is possible to be made in xp and up to vx ace.
But that is a lot of work and I doubt the few people who has made them would be ready to share. So a lot of scratch work would be ahead of you.

And last....
No you cannot load your 2003 project in vx.
You would need to reconstruct the entire game.

Added some shadings in battle.

Well in my opinion....
I preffer the ones above.
It looks cuter and match the game better in my opinion :)
the shadows in the last ones look a little strange to me.

Though I like the shadows in the last picture where the shadow is on the guys back as he faces the sunset.
But when it is in the middle of the day I would take the first picture over the updated one. :)
