Oh, I see you're trying to striving away from 'anime' aesthetics; I appreciate that effort. :) ...I'm not sure about the anatomy here, though. I think her head is too small, or maybe she's just, *ahem* 'big'? xP
Also about the anime part ^^ Yeah for this game I had a hard time to decide what art style the character should have. Anime, semi realistic or realistic. And I ended up landing on semi realisic; something about that just attracts me and I thought that the art style would suit the game atmosphere nicely.

But I'll wait until you fill it before any more thoughts :x

Oh! or you talking about the empty space? Those places will be filled up by forests later. only places around the squares are walkable.

Don't worry about it, the change in resolution make that we see a bigger part of the map at the time also the characters can run to decrease the travel time. But before we realease it to players or even consider a map final we playtest them to make sure we ourself don't get annoyed XD

I started to Laugh al ot after reading this comment haha, actually her chest was even a tiny bit bigger before; But then I got like. 'Okay, she may have a big chest but this is ridicelous so I resized it.(No I wont upload that one. XD) Now mostly it is cause of the shading that make them really 'POP OUT' so to speak but it gets better haha. ^^

Work in progress of an intro picture, though I was so retarded that I managed to save over the photoshop file after making all layers into one... Yay me.... Well at least I have a high resoluion picture saved so I guess I have to go from that one. Sigh...

Just showing how I make the maps.
For dungeons I start by making squares in a random pattern then I will decide
what will be higher up, lower etc. After that I draw an outline around the squares that will be roads, paths later on. After that I start to texture my outlines.
This was an old map though that was not finish neither was I satisfied to 100% so
I will most likely tweak on it some more. Been thinking to 3d render a few things to reduce the workload. But will see about that...

Changed style a little and started to draw another character of the game.
Cherish a merchant from the merchant guild in Bellhall. and no she is not a money hungry freak XD

That map in your 2d images is epic. Is it compeletely, 100% yours, done from scratch, totally without any kind of source image? It's awesome.

Indeed it were made from scratch :) but I did make some custom brushes while working on it. :P
