you're not really taking what I'm saying. her response to a pretty stupid question in the first place comes as a direct result of her Christian belief. Traditionally Christian belief does not allow same-sex marriage so by calling her an idiot for her response is indeed lumping a lot of people under the idiot category - except it's not that simple either, since many branches of Christianity have reformed that particular belief.

It's a double-edged sword in any case. If she says she supports same-sex marriage she is seen as a crazy liberal and loses the support of people with more conservative views, if she says she doesn't she's seen as a prude and loses the support of more liberal folk. The best thing she could've done was either be honest or dodge entirely, and she did the former. I don't particularly agree with her view but good for her for being honest and good for Donald Trump for respecting that.
