What we did horribly on our first games.

I am pretty sure for the first half of my RPG Maker history every game I made was the same thing with "better" graphics and coding.

Although at one point early on I teamed up with someone who was much better than me and he coded a CBS and a CMS, and composed music, and created a jumping system, and came up with the story, and basically did everything. I just worked on maps and creating cut scenes, and that was probably the first real game I attempted.

He got drafted into doing music for a big project and the whole thing fell apart after that.

I need massive help!

1. Are you doing the music in an event? If so do it in map properties instead.

What did you do today?

Went to church this morning
Ate lunch with a friend
Hung out with said friend
Watched t.v and worked on my project.
Ate dinner
Studied for test.

A pretty good day I would say.

Do i have Map making Skills?

They are good, but I can see some areas where you can improve.

1st screen: On some of the corners of the lake it looks like there is a tile missing. Other than that it looks pretty good!

2nd: I think the map looks a little to empty. Try making the room smaller so it does not seem as large. Also, the bed seems really big for that Charset.

3rd: The main thing that I am seeing here is the top of this screen. It looks like it is supposed to be a cliff, but it is too straight. Try making it curvy. Also, maybe try adding some height variations on the map itself, if it is like a mountain village or something.

4th: Nothing that I can really spot, looks good!

5th: First of all a little error that I spotted. One of the barrels on the top are overlapping wrong. For the map itself, it seems a little empty. Try adding some more grass variety, and some trees. The cliffs are o.k, but can maybe use a little more variety in hight difference and make them not so straight. And also put things at the top of the cliff, it looks really bare up there.

6th: I don't see a lot wrong with the map itself, but I don't think the charsets you have on it fit super well. Just a little nitpick, nothing major at all. And also on of the boxes on the left are overlapping the wall.

Overall, these are very good, but with some improvements they can be much better. Another thing to make sure you do (and I am sure you will, just adding this in here) is to populate your maps with people and animals and such. Good job!

What are you listening to? [Music]

@Rockmik: Wow, I really like that. I am assuming you did the graphics yourself? Is there a video or something where we can see it animated?

The Circle Trilogy - Ted Dekker

My brother and friend really like them, I have not had the chance to read it yet, but I hope to at some point.

Top Ten Topic: Playstation 2 Games

10: Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
9: Kingdom Hearts
8: Prince of Persia Sands of Time
7: Final Fantasy X
6: Metal Gear Solid 3
5: Dragon Quest VIII
4: Final Fantasy XII
3: ICO
2: Okami
1: Shadow of the Colossus

To be honest this list is kind of lame. I have not played a lot of the PS2 games that I want to, and some of these games I don't even like a ton, just the best I have on the system.

It looks neat, but the perspective seems off in some places.

Yes, Rock Band is awesome.

I hope they don't do something like make air drums using the Wii remote.
This game is awesome, but only if you have people to play it with. Practicing drums by yourself is o.k, but overall not worth getting (imo) unless you will have people to play it with a lot.
