Well, there is two things that may have happened.
Either right as you where trying to join, I started the game already (I don't think you can join as we are fighting), or I left the room and stopped playing and the room was deleted.
Sorry, if I had seen it come up I would have let you joined. It must have just been bad timing.

I have heard that too. Most people instinctively go right, so be diffrent and go left, haha.

That is really cool, WIP. I didn't realize you where doing that. What kind of games will you be able to make in it? RPGs only, or other types to? Also, will it be pretty user friendly like RPG Maker or will it require some programming skills?

Cutscenes
Well, cutscenes can be a complicated thing. It really just depends on all you want to do.
It mainly involves Events and Switches.
Here are some that should help you with some of those things:
