RPGMaker.net has Stupid Reviews

author=demondestiny link=topic=372.msg4787#msg4787 date=1194329755
To me, reviews should only be made when a game is completed. You often won't find much potential in a demo or something like that.

I think you're missing out on the point of homebrew development.

Dragoon Legends Official Soundtrack Part 1: Complete; DOWNLOAD NOW

Yeah, I had a zip up earlier, but there were some strange glitches I hadn't caught in the mp3 files. I am working on it right now. I appreciate the interest.

Kazukeri made all the graphics. This is *his* game; I just helped with the translation from his native Polish and wrote the music. He should be putting up a promo thread here soon. He was actually kind of upset that I used old screens because he said that they weren't as good as the new stuff :(

Dragoon Legends Official Soundtrack Part 1: Complete; DOWNLOAD NOW

Please download the Dragoon Legends Official Soundtrack Part 1:

Note -- I've updated the soundtrack as of midnight 12/07. The fixes I had *thought* to have added were mysteriously not appended! If you downloaded this on 12/06, please download again and replace your old files if you want an up-to-date version.

So there is this game coming out soon that I was on the team for called Dragoon Legends. It's a completely custom job with a brand-new game engine built inside of Multimedia Fusion, new graphics, and new music. It looks pretty cool! It's been in development for a long time and Part 1 would have been released a year ago if I hadn't taken so long to edit text and write the soundtrack. I wrote the soundtrack for the game, which took me much longer than I think it really should have. Anyway Part 1 of it is done!

Here are some really, really old screenshots from the game (I did not make the graphics or the game):

These are from sometime in early 2006, and the game looks a bit better now. Unfortunately these are the most recent screens I have.

Anyway, the music is strictly Classical and written for orchestra. I took strong influences from French Impressionism, so if you're familiar with Parisian music circa 1900 you'd know what I was going for. This is about half an hour or so of music. It's all in mp3 format, packed inside of a zip file for easy downloading. Let me know what you think!

Royalty-Free RTP Alternative Project

I think you are misinterpreting, shadowtext. I'm just trying to rouse up support for a Mac'n'Blue or Theodore-style project.

Final Fantasy IV (DS)

It's out in Japan on 12/20

There is no US release date yet.

I'm crossing my fingers that it will have English text option like certain other handheld remakes of Final Fantasy games so that I can import!

Final Fantasy IV (DS)

Is there a release date for this yet? I know that it won't take long to make because it's a DS title.

Royalty-Free RTP Alternative Project

Don't try and use the site's domain against me: this domain has never and will never be just about Enterbrain's programs. This site flourished in the past with numerous non-EB programs and I want it to be the same way again. Everything deserves equal representation.

I would never say people cannot do it, but I wouldn't endorse such a thing if it was made just for RMVX. If an engine can use 32x32 tiles and whatever size of sprite, then it should be able to use these resources.

You're the boss :(

I didn't mean to say that we should somehow claim the RTP Alternative ONLY FOR RPG MAKER or anything. I am suggesting, however, that the dimensions of sprites, tiles, and the layout of the download packages should all be optimized for RMVX.

Aveyond II is coming out tomorrow

The only thing I really have against Aveyond is that I wasn't hired to write the soundtrack for either.

Royalty-Free RTP Alternative Project

Well, there could be coding required for basic gameplay adjustments in high demand. Skill points systems, party changing, ATB, whatever. You see requests for the same three or four scripts every day, and it would be cool to have a proficient coder write modular versions of them for royalty-free homebrew use.

Of course resources could be used for other engines -- it's just a matter of importing them into your program (ikamap for example). But since this is rpgmaker.net, I can't help but think that the spirit of the project should be RMVX-centric.

I hope there are some artists here that are interested in helping, or this project will never happen :(

Also note that the tile sizes and sprite size flexibility are the same as for RMXP.

And you are...? (THE INTRODUCTION THREAD)

How old is "very old"?

By RPG standards at least 23 :(
