Here's one for you guys; how do you feel about a girl that's attractive and that she knows that she's sexy? Is that a turnoff or intimidating to some of you?
It's fine. I don't know why our culture is so down on people who are confident in themselves and how they look. In pretty much every case an attractive person has to put effort into how they look (fashion, fitness, hygiene), and that person has every right to be proud of their work.

Having the ability to run away from bosses wouldn't really fit a lot of climatic games, and in some games it flat out wouldn't make sense, which is why I'm surprised that Chrono Cross did it. It would feel extremely corny being able to run away from God Kefka or Safer Sephiroth.
Why? It is the same as reloading your game after dying but takes less time. It is just as anticlimactic knowing that you are immortal and get infinite retries.
How about this; are there any cliches that you LIKE?
save points before bosses
This is why Dragon Quest games are actually extremely innovative.
In a Dragon Quest game, you can always run away from the boss. This way you can prepare yourself, heal up, and start over with a new strategy. I don't know why more RPGs don't let you do this because it is basically the same as a save point right before without the surprise-killer. Also, if you die against the boss, you are sent back to town - you never get a game over. You can always navigate through the dungeon in two minutes once the puzzles are all solved etc so you aren't wasting much time.
