Limitations
Actually . . .
When making an amateur game, you are well-advised to take note of your limitations and maybe design your game around them. You shouldn't throw yourself against the wall trying to remake Final Fantasy games or, more appropriately, The Way. Think about what you do good in game making and build your game to revolve around that. If you aren't good at something and you aren't learning and it isn't catching on, just axe that feature from your game. You will have more fun making it and (this next part is important) you might even make a good game that people play to completion!

What are you thinking about right now?
Persona 4
I have only played this game for about 20 minutes but so far I can tell that
1. It is exactly like Persona 3
2. All of the cumbersome game-breaking bullshit from Persona 3 is revised (menus, fast travel, controlling your team-mated, length of animations in battles etc are shorter)
3. The dialog and setting are much more creative and witty
4. I will probably love this game and it looks like one of the best RPGs ever.
HOWEVER there is no widescreen which is stupid. Star Ocean 3 had widescreen in like 2004 so why can't this :(

Dragoon Legends, Part 1
I have received reports that Kazukeri is indeed alive, somewhere, so . . . maybe this will urge him out of hiding. I would like nothing more than for him to ask me to take it down <3
Aurora Wing
Yeah this is definitely not a big graphics title. It's really amazing though and is one of my favorite amateur games.
File Sizes
Someone showed a 3D game earlier in this thread.
Keep in mind that with textures and stuff you can actually get away with a lot less data to make nice graphics than with detailed, hi-res 2D images. Repeating textures on 3D meshes (note that meshes take up practically no space) aren't really noticeable compared to repeating images and tiles in 2D art. Also you can compress textures in 3D a lot more than you can in 2D before you start sacrificing real visual fidelity. In 3D graphics, textures are responsible for almost all of the filesize.

Am I allowed to post this here? ;o
Looks great man! I wonder from time to time how the project is going ahead.
And yes you are allowed to post screens. I am pretty sure the staff agrees you can't promote the actual game though - unless you buy an advertisement!
Where are you from? A Possible RMN Meet

@brandon: Sexy! Although the varying thickness of the menu borders is distracting. I'd suggest keeping it a solid width.
I didn't make the graphics nor was I in charge so screw you bro >:(
Anywho:

(Trust me, this looks better in game. It's much more zoomed in because of the low resolution of RM2k3)
I love your games because they are so well-designed. I am sure that puzzle is no exception.
That is a rad map too!
