[Poll] Why some people think FF8 was the best FF ever?
Nostalgic? that's not good, at least I don't like it, that make the whole discussion pointless. I don't think it's true, there is something more.
personally I chose risk and reward, you could do so much with low health and you could die so easily. magic was completely removed and take a support roll, all you could do was to make the right decision before the battle start. Story, battle system, and everything else was not really that much good (in my view). mini game was very good too, it wasn't overwhelming like ff10, still the reward of card game was worth the trouble.

minigames are the only thing that isn't the worst of all FF games
and really the primary draw of triple triad was simply that it let me not play FF8

It's not a fan topic, people who like a game, have a reason.
And why I asked about ff8? because I dunno what's the exact aspect of the game that I liked the most. A lot of people played this game so it's popular and can be subject to discussion.
discussing other games, to understand what we lack or should achieve is not a game design subject? or you saw so many ff fan topic that you can't see the point of the discussion? or maybe I can't explain myself.

edit 2: @ kory_toomb : I played ff1- ff 12, played ff8 for 10 or more times, but couldn't convince myself to play ff7 more than twice. That's why I think there is distinct difference BTW ff8 fans (as the greatest ff ever in their view) and non ff8 fans. We are not here to convince each other, because its just a preference, personally I don't think ff8 achieve anything, story wasn't the best, battle system was not something very special, and so on... . But I still think it's the best, I just don't know why I think like that.

skill 1 is prerequirement of skill 2
first create 2 common event, 1- learn skill 2 to actor x, 2- forget skill 2 of actor x
in skill 1 you call common event 1 (in effect menu), in skill 2 you call common event 2.
