The clashing also has a little bit to do with the level of detail (i.e, the amount of colours used) of Minwu. Perhaps edit him so he has the same level of detail as Rosa (as it is evident that you're most likely going with Final Fantasy 4 sprites and tilesets). Perhaps reduce the amount of colours used for Minwu by removing a few of the different shades of white (well, white and grey, but you know what I mean) or 'detail' of Minwu's clothing to just one pure colour of white (or grey).
