NICKAD'S PROFILE

I like to smell people :).
I have an absurd fashion of littering my game creations with unnecessary light-maps and overlays.
I am fond of RPGs and first-person shooters, and have an astounding joy for horror games.

SHOW ME YOUR SCREENSHOTS - Fall Edition

I can actually see that all quite well, but my monitor has a history of being a bit brighter than most other folks here.
It looks awesome. The two trees on the right look a tiny bit wonky up near the top- you might add some minor additional shading to clarify where a few branches are coming from, so they don't look quite so fat at the top.
Thank you :).
Actually, there is some slight shading to indicate where the branches are coming from (though, there is only little shading to begin with!).
Here is a magnified version:

Also, the character sprite is a woman (just in case you can't tell!).

The importance of Music in a game

As previously stated, it would depend on the genre/type of game. If it is a horror game, silence may be golden. Though, if it is any other form of game that requires music, it is important to choose the right type for the atmosphere of a game. If it is a colourful and cheerful game, use some cheerful and vibrant music, to create an 'up-beat' reaction in the player. If it is a dark game, use some dark and hollow ambience.
It is also essential that you choose the right type of music for any specific scene happening in the game. If it is the last encounter, use a fast-paced composition (along with the fact that you are THE ONLY HOPE TO SAVING THE EARTH), to create a sense of hope and raise the player's heart-rate. If it is in a mountain, use a piece that is up-lifting and out-there (I'm not sure how to explain this. Think of the music used in Final Fantasy 6 when you first gain access to the Blackjack airship. The use of echoes to create a sense of a wide world/limitless space around you).

Help with dialogue

Could you post the document in a post instead (if it can fit)? Most people will be a little sketchy about downloading something like this.

SHOW ME YOUR SCREENSHOTS - Fall Edition

A mock-up of something I have planned for Halloween (if I can meet deadlines and can actually be bothered). Everything is custom graphics (though, I haven't actually pixelled in a while!).
Also, too bad the site-skin makes everything hardly visible :(.

Epic Mickey - Exclusive Wii steampunk action game by the maker of Deus Ex and Thief!

This looks brilliant. Let's hope they implement some nice gameplay features :).

Kingdom Hearts fans are a step up only from people who got half their brain shot out by a pistol in a fierce card tournament gone bad.
The thing that drug Kingdom Hearts down was the Final Fantasy bullshit.

Exactly.

Halloween is fast approaching

It would be great to have an overall theme (excluding 'Halloween', as the contest would be about Halloween). What I mean by this is that we're all assigned a certain theme (for instance, we must all create a short creation involving a haunted house, or an abandoned city, etc), and we are given an allotted time period to complete and submit this by.

Dreams

post=100309
Had a dream last night where I watched two of my best female friends get drowned by another girl. Then I killed the other girl...

It was terrible, it was so so vivid and real looking/sounding.

Aw :(.
I've never actually experienced dreams in which any of my relatives or friends are present (well, there was that one dream, where a murderer actually morphed into a replica of our family dog, and attempted to murder me, but that is a different story).

Oh hi

Dreams

I am continuously plagued by dreams of FALLING OFF objects and furniture. I actually feel as if I am falling. It's quite annoying :(.
