It's not quite there yet... But it's better than some of your previous screenshots...

Some issues I think you could improve:

1. The room in general is too bare I think (Or too big maybe?)... Cut one tile at each side to make it narrower, or try to add things like shelves or items being showcased in the area around the cloth stands.

2. That Chest's position makes no sense there. Put it somewhere BEHIND the counter...

3. Try replacing those daggers behind the clown with windows... Add a couple of windows back there, in fact. And try to add some shelf cases back there too.

4. I think the vertical wood bars at the right end of the wall are wrong. Do it exactly like the left end (But with the wood bar touching the right end, of course.)

EDIT: Scrap the wooden bars point. I don't think I made much sense with point 4 haha.

Keep it up, man... You'll get better and better with mapping. I'm confident of it.

So...I've been using ceilings for walls? Well then, what am I supposed to use for walls? A picture of such a thing would be nice.

The celing tiles are correct, it' s just that right beneath them there should also be walls, like the northern one.
Take a look at this screenshot... It's not perfect but maybe you' ll get what I mean... look at the room at the right, and how the ceiling tiles are combined wiht the wall tiles:

Dang. That is one of the better sites for characters I've found all week! Thank you so much!!

EDIT: As for a demo, I would run into two problems:

1. I don't know when I would try to post one. It would be awful to send out a demo that sucks, but I would still want to have one before the game's release.

2. I did actually try to get a demo out pre-twist, but it took too long to be checked, and any time I clicked on it, I got this weird error message involving Django.

Hmm... Point 1 is completely understandable. You should only release something when you feel like it.
As a player, I know I would like to play something before giving critique rather than do it just based off screenshots, but that's just me. You should do what you think will benefit you most.

And about point 2... I believe it's slow because that's the upload process haha... And I believe I got that Django error once... If I´m not mistaken it happened to me JUST RIGHT after my upload finished... After a couple of hours the download started working fine... Don't know the actual technical reason for it, though...

Project at a standstill

Hmm... I never used Minkoff Battle System, and I have limited experience (better than no experience at-all, I guess) at scripting...

Perhaps if you posted your game in its current state I could take a look at the script within it and see if I could make it work like you intend?... Of course, that is up to you. Because I particularly couldn't help you without seeing the actual problem.

But don't stop working on your project! I mean... Not because of a reason like this...
Good luck figuring it out

Is there a particular reason for the floor tiles having light\dark parts all over the place?
Besides, you have no walls...

Feel free to ignore my question if that was on purpose

Nice screens! Subscribed to your game!

I look to forward to play a demo of your game!

There are some nice resource sites in the credits page of my game, perhaps you may browse them and find something you like.

Keep it up!

Should my town be filled with people?

I believe the spaces separating the buildings of your town are too big. Just an opinion, though.
Perhaps you could add more buildings, or make them closer together.

And about the townspeople, I believe you should have just enough citizens wandering about to give the feel that the town is not deserted. But the most important thing, I believe, is that they all must have some meaningful to say...
