Description

Friday the 13th is coming up and it coincides with the date of the next Release Something! Day! Talk about a coincidence!

So, some of you might not know what a Release Something! Day (RS!D) is. Basically, it's a day where you release something - anything! - in order to get feedback from the community. Release Something! Day used to be a regularly occurring event in the days of yore, back when the community had a sticky issue of never releasing any games or demos (because perfectionists I guess?). RS!D was created as a way to encourage sharing, collaboration, feedback, and content in the community. The aim is to truly try to capture the spirit of releasing something. It is not about prepping a major release, or making something in a fury to have something new to show for the event. It is about showing your works-in-progress, getting feedback, and checking out what other people are working on. Like a snapshot of RMN's development community.

What kinds of things can be shown? Music, tiles, sprites, graphics of any type, gameplay (videos of gameplay tests are good), tech demos, demos - even completed games (but don't strive for a finished product; that's not the point of RS!D). Let the feedback work for you. Although, there are some limitations to RMN's event profile - only game downloads can be submitted to the "official" event submission. But that's okay! I will manually compile all of the other types of submissions and update the event page.

So, some of you might not know what a Release Something! Day (RS!D) is. Basically, it's a day where you release something - anything! - in order to get feedback from the community. There will even be a podcast covering the releases.

1. If you are posting a game demo or download, make a Gameprofile (if you haven't already), upload the file, and submit the download to this event (by clicking the Submit button in the upper left)
2. If you are posting other media (like screenshots or music or graphics or videos) submit it to the site like normal and then post a link to it in the comments

There will be a badge worth 10 MS for releasing something. Best feedback givers will also get a badge worth 20 MS. Because the feedback is what counts this time.

There might even be a podcast!

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I released a screenshot: rpgmaker.net/games/2931/images/55916/

sorry it's not a bigger thing, but at least I started working on this game again.

I wasn't feeling the best so I never got around to making a blog for this but I did get my game page up and did manage to get a gif of the saving system prototype I was playing around with. You'll get a group photo every save point too!

Since hey, take a photo it'll last longer!
It's not much, but it's Something, I guess.

At least I'm working on the project again. Hopefully it won't be two years before the next Release Something this time, or we'll probably have the next RPG Maker by then!

Characters:

Akahr- The hero of the remake, he starts out rather unapproachable but improves, possibly because he gets scared into being more like a hero.
Cory- A skilled tradesman, he specializes in building and repairing bridges and other things. He's not the type for combat.
Thomas- A traveler from Renzan Island that has a hang-glider to cross the Great Lake. He came to Lakeland because he heard from his giant friend that there's someone there that might be able to help out.
William- A towering spiky-haired youth, he casts long shadows and shakes the ground where he walks. Some in Lakeland think he's a monster, others think he's helpful. His hundred-foot stature gives him the nickname William the Mounteen.

There will be other characters that join or help out the party later on.

Locations:
Beach House- Well, it's a beach house. Perhaps it would be a place to throw a party once you actually have a party.
Fishing Pond- Relax here for a bit, maybe catch some fish. The world of Dracos will happily wait for you, right?
Lakeland Town- The starting town. A good place to find out information and buy supplies before heading to the Overlook.
Lakeside Cliffs- The Overlook of Lakeside Cliffs is where a mysterious traveler is camping out with his giant friend William, who has been watching the hero's actions and awaiting him.
Lowland Cabin- A cabin near the west part of the field map next to a hole in the ground.
Hills Cave- An area with monsters that continually get stronger as you descend. Even if you overlevel, there will always be a challenge in here. Monsters here are free to get much stronger than on the surface because William can't get his hands in the cave to grab them. Beware!
Spiral Mountains- A mountain range that seems to wind around, and around, and around like a spiral.
Travel Center- One of many travel centers in the game, it will link to other islands and continents later. William spots the brightly lit square and picks the party up for a thrilling ride and a mini-game!

Other:

It can't be seen from this angle, but William has a sword, should there ever be a threat great enough for him to use it.

More information to come in the coming weeks and months!
I... have a game page. My first public one, anyways.

@FangStilzskin For me it says "Page Not Found". Maybe the page hasn't been approved yet? If you haven't done it before, maybe you need to wait for it to go through the queue.

It was quite a busy week for me to revive my game, but it's is finally getting into shape!

Fixed game breaking bugs, added my first puzzle, created about 6 maps (was only 1 map) and finally improved the lightning effects. It was pretty fun!

10 Minute Hero (demo)

Any feedback is welcomed! I'm starving for it ;_;

I'm watching you~

I put in a review for it, so you'll get some feedback when it's approved.

I did a lot of work and I can't even show it publicly. It's really frustrating -_-;
Can I just show it to you in PM kentona? lol
yeah sure, then I know to give you achievos

PM'd ~
I actually wanted to show something about the follow-up to Ruby Wolf but instead I ended up upgrading RPG20XX so it could run in the most deranged environments, Windows XP, malfunctioning virtual machines, missing video drivers, etc.

It's already been released and the button updated, but I'm not exactly sure what the feedback is supposed to be. Try using it on the oldest most outdated/broken machine that runs Windows you have? Could give any sort of feedback at this point.

Oh, I forgot about WINE on Mac, that's a really absurd environment to try RPG20XX in if I ever knew one. I personally don't know anyone who's ever used it.

Hmm... we already released a video... but why not tack on one more submission?

Costume designing is so fun.

In that outfit she wouldn't need to hide spare aces up her sleeve, she'd just need to lean over the table, no one would be watching her hands.
I was so hyped for this because I had started to get work on a new project done...

I could only get some graphics ripped for the game done.

Ripping graphics is a very tedious process that drains my creative spark worse than leaving your cars headlights on overnight.

What do I do? D:

Kickstarter guy:
I've checked on it and here is my piece of advice. Don't publish your stretch goals before having initial amount in your pocket. Video has its flaws (use of different fonts without proper reason, strange borders and changes of resolution. Arguing is negative and that its not good either. You should build upon enthusiasm, you don't want to call community members racist indirectly). I would use Sooz's picture as its cover as it have darker borders and will stand out more. It looks more RPGish too. In About this project section, I would add links to Sooz's and Sae's pages. I would put examples of their work in order by whom they they were made.
Rewards by my opinion are strange. Six months is long period of time but any serious game needs even longer. I would make this whole Kickstarter commercial and thus make people more willing to contribute.

Oh whoops must have got my timezone wrong in settings. Thought I had another hour to finish up.

Ok uploaded the alpha build:
