Holes that I haven't had the time to make hole shaped, actually I should probably make a paranoma of the floor below it and set it to a transparent tile with some sort of an outline. I know I'll set one of our team's monkeys on doing that right away.

You get an A for effort, that much is certain. The way your game handles attacks is also interesting; but that dialog makes me want to ... laugh a little, and not in a good way unfortunately. I'd try to work on that if I were you. Also, the sprites; while it's nice you went with originals, are a bit stiff. Mainly the attacking sprites suffer from this... Also, why does one character vanish after he's attacked once?

@nightblade: Lance vanishes when he gets a status ailment. I've yet to make all of the battle animations, like running, badstatus, etc. I'm going to have them vanish at zero HP to make it a little clearer in the midst of a hectic battle (like against Folo or Sitanel.) Also, if it's not too much trouble, PM me with the dialogue you thought was bad, so I can see if I want to correct it or not. Some of the dialogue is INTENTIONALLY bad for comic relief.
@RMN in general: If the game looks interesting, it's Last Day, right here in my sig. Also, sorry about the font, I am working on it.

Blah. Well, I've been doing an experiment with Dragon Fantasy recently, and this is the result.
It's the Borez Region, just updated with FFIV graphics. I'm just gonna do the World Map for now, and maybe one day DF will get a full SNES make over. =O
@ Kentona: Awesome. So is this tower aera one of the final areas of the game, or is it just somewhere in the middle? I've been itching to see a completed version of HR.

Ephiam, it would make more sense to have the bridge over the narrower river instead of spanning the length of the lake with it wokka wokka 8)
Ephiam, If you want, you can use the FF3 NES map set for Dragon Fantasy II, that one is still 8-bit. Come to think of it, the FF3 and FF4 map sets do look pretty similar...
And about the lake, they probably wanted to impress. There's a bridge like that in New Orleans, where it crosses the length of the lake, rather than its narrowest point.

I may do Dragon Fantasy III (if it ever comes about) in some sort of SNES-like graphics, but as for Dragon Fantasy 1 and 2, they're staying as NES-like games. =P
I just wanted to see how Dragon Fantasy 1's world would look remade with Final Fantasy IV graphics. I liked it, and it seemed to match quite well. However, that's all gone now and I've started working on DF II again. =O
And yeah, maybe they just built it like that for looks.

Actually, that kind of "busy work" is very effective in stimulating the economy. It was one of the pillars of FDR's new deal; (unnecessarily) large public works projects create jobs, thus reducing poverty and crime, and do eventually produce public works.

I WAS GOING TO SHOW SOME SCREENSHOTS HERE BUT THE WAY THAT I HAD CAPTURED THEM/HOSTED/SHRUNK THEM CAUSED THEM TO LOOK TERRIBLE. WHOOPS.
