MAFIA GUIDE; HOSTING, SUGGESTIONS, AND DISCUSSION

can we get a list of timezones or something so that mods can start setting deadlines that are jive with the schedules of most of the players (I'm EST)
also about deadlines: there's no law in place that says that dayphase has to be EXACTLY x amount of hours or anything.

What happened last game, ivory?!

Sooo, when is the next mafia going to start and who's hosting it?
I think most people are burned out, but likely the next one is Frogge's or Libby's. It's very likely a break will happen though.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I don't think anyone's burned out, it's literally just Cavedog who was saying that and no one else. And I'm 90% sure that was part of a strategy to get town players to pay less attention to the game so he could win as scum.
Well, if you look at Despairword Mafia, which barely got enough to start and 17 TOTAL pages, compared to a while back when nobody were saying they were tired out, for example Cheesecake, which got almost too many people and 91 pages total.
Something about those figures tell me we're burned out.

this is sort of true lol. I was burned out irl. it was not really in an effort to get people to pay less attention. it was more. just padding my postcount with garbage.
despairworld was always going to have less posting because everyone was tiptoeing around words. and also everyone died really fast. and there wasn't a lot of discussion to be had d1. because. the lynch was so obvious.

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

A few quick mafia hosting Dos and Don'ts, based on reading the current game:
DO:
- Make votecounts at least every 24 hours, preferably more often. Once every 12 hours is a bit better. 3 times a rl day even better. ALWAYS add a votecount to each end-of-day post. These votecounts should not only contain the number of votes for any given person, but also by whom those votes were cast. Even better if you include everyone who cancelled their vote but have their names crossed out. This also makes it easier to do the counts, as you can just take your previous votecount and then write down and cross out as you go along the posts.
DON'T:
- Interact with your game too much. Of course you're very excited about your game, but as mod, preferably you have as few posts as possible beside the end-of-night, end-of-day, and votecount posts. The fewer posts you have, the lower the odds of you accidentally revealing critical information! 75% of the game is theorizing, so don't be quick to remove doubt! Also, answering questions in the thread can make it really hard for scum to bluff, so you want to keep that to a minimum as well.

Do you have a theme setup or just in the works? Either way I think all of the other games I had listed have either happened or were canceled so you are up next.
imagine the scene from the matrix where neo is standing in white space and he says "we're gonna need guns. lots of guns." and all the millions of guns slide around him at lightspeed. now imagine that instead of neo, its me, and instead of guns, they're mafia setups, and also trinity isnt there because i dont have a gf and would never show her my mafia setups anyway.
Might want to add this to the OP: https://www.quicktopic.com/
You know, instead of having to rely on chat which would delete itself (especially if you use slack). >.<)b

If it isn't a little too early after my previous game, could I be added to the list for a Pokemon themed mafia game?
