Got any Dexreth amulets?

I'm a bit confused why Rylah would suddenly start talking to me about random strangers. "Eh, I don't think I was much older myself when I started going out into the world on my own. Why do you care, though? I mean, I see that both of you have pink hair and all, but unless that has some special meaning for you, I don't see why you'd want to stand here and gossip all of a sudden."

But when I see the newcomer talk to the android, I'm intrigued as well. I turn to her and ask: "Sorry, did you just... try to bargain with a robot? I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that. What made you think that was going to work? Are the androids that much more advanced where you come from?"

Edit: Dangit, Kloe. You're too fast!

*I guess I halt walking away because otherwise I can't talk to ???*

"Well, I just thought... maybe... I don't know, I don't have a lot of experience wth androids. I can bargain with most usually. I'm also quite intrigued by the fact you questioned that even, most wouldn't spare a glance, let alone a word or a sentence."

Chloe: Also, you have 4500 credits; not a thousand.

The bartender looks you, looks at the ID. It's clear he knows you're too young, but he doesn't care. He gives you the pint.

Job Board listings:
  • Pilot needed to deliver 150 units of iron to Palius for 400 credits. Accept? Y/N
  • Aviation engineer will pay 5,000 credits per ship hull to anyone that can bring the intact hull of a Wah'ri Talon to Ragnarok. Must be functionally intact. Even a cracked hull is useless.
  • Pilot needed to pick up 100 units of iron plates at Malir and deliver to Ceres for 200 credits. Accept? Y/N
  • 2000 credits for an escort mission. Come to Abil for details.

I think Ozardel is also at the Tavern. I have to go for awhile.

(I know, I wanted to make a little profit, not go for broke, haha)
(Also I assume I said what I said to NeSi then proceeded to storm out and to the tavern, haha)

The bar looks gloomy, as always, though at least I have a pint.
(is it free on the house or did I pay for it? :P)
The jobboard looks mundane, pick up, deliver, all for low sums, the intact Ship Hull would be a nightmare though I think for a few moments about the escort mission, I'll keep that in mind... Abil... I wonder who that is.

There seems to be a Man different, if ever so slightly, in the tavern. A bit of grease on his clothing suggests he's probably a pilot, or some mechanic, but the die hard look in his eye seals the fact he's a hotshot pilot. He's pretty young, but not a boring youth.

I drink my pint, slowly, not like some of the brainless buffoons who sit here all day, drunk out of their minds, who glug each glass down in seconds in sloppy messes.

I just sit and ponder for a while... I then get stupidly bored within the minuete, and try to regain my sanity by striking up a conversation with the only half-interesting person in the whole tavern.
"Hey buddy, any heroic space pilot stories? You seem like a pilot to me!"

I turn towards the little girl, surprised to find yet another child running amock with alcohol in their hands. "Heroic tales I don't have kid, I did have some trouble recently, but I'm fairly new to space travel." Obviously a lie.

I think I recognize this gal, if memory serves right, some pink haired girl was discharged from the UAS for some odd reason, even I heard about it. "If you want heroic tales, you should talk to my companion, he's a mercenary. He'll probably have enough heroic tales for you."

I'd love to tell her about the last stand I took against 150 seperatists on the "Aurelia" Military resupply station, but that would mean blowing my cover and I can't afford that.

"Hey kid, I don't know why, but you seem like you're searching for adventure. Would you be interested?"

"Huh. Weird kid. No wonder she stood out to you, Rylah."

I briefly worry whether she might have been a spy or something similar. But then, why would she draw attention to herself like that and then walk away? Probably nothing to worry about. Still, I don't want to stay here any longer than necessary.

"Rylah, are you done here, too? Let's go somewhere else, then."

Are there any weapon stores nearby?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Returning to the bar I see Ozardel talking to Kloe. I approach Ozardel and begin showing him the map I drew, pointing at it and trying to explain my illegible writing in a language no one but me can understand (but of course, he can barely understand every other word I say, because I speak in the same language).

It occurs to me that I actually know the names of the ships. Pointing at the southmost of the six parking spots on the left of the middle area, I say, "Brigadier." Then I point at the other two spots I've labelled on the right of the middle area, and say, "Viper. Gauntlet."

I suddenly realize that Chloe was actually talking with you. Huh. What awful hair. I reach my hands toward her. "Strangle?", I ask.

There is a weapon store across the street as a matter of fact. It has a modest assortment of blades and handguns. A few rifles are available, but this store has something you thought you'd only ever see on Aldus Prime or Paladin Station: two focused particle guns are available. Energy weapons had been in existence for many centuries but due to various problems--and accidents--over time, standard projectile weapons continued to be favored over the more efficient laser weapons. Only ships carried beam weapons these days--because they have a large enough power system to handle any accidental feedback. Most companies don't bother selling beam sidearms. Also, every once in awhile, an arms developer tries to solve the problems inherent in an energy based handgun. These don't look old either. They look brand new.

Well, I probably can't afford anything extravagant like that anyway, and I would just attract unnecessary attention if I bought one. But I'll still take a look at those energy guns and try to find out which company produced them.

For now, I'll settle for a simple handgun for emergency situations.

Helium: Most of the modern, advanced firearms are a bit too expensive. The pulse gun (a weapon that shoots energy emitting projectiles: it's as close as you get to an energy weapon without actually being an energy weapon.), you could probably get after your next job. It's 1200 credits. Of the 20 standard guns, 12 are antique and half of those in poor condition. (In a game where the play is space combat, I wasn't actually thinking of coming up with new types of guns) Of the new guns, there are four 32 caliber handguns. They can fire standard ammunition or any modern 32 round, including targeting rounds and delayed rounds. These guns are 300 credits each. The rifle fires .223 rounds and comes with a target locking system. It's advertisement guarantees "A bullseye every time". It is 475 credits. The other three new guns are basic .22s. They are 250 each. The two high quality antiques are of interest: one is a .44 M1911 and the other is an S&W .45LC revolver. The proprietor clearly has no idea of their value because they're priced at 250 each, also.

Since I am not too interested in antique weaponry, I don't care much about the old models either. I'll just take one of the basic .22s for now. As long as they work, I'm fine with it, although I hope I won't have to use them. Fighting on the ground is something I'm much less comfortable with than space combat from the relative safety of my ship. But sometimes, it can't be avoided.

I still really want to know, though: Where do these hypermodern looking energy guns come from? Who produces them?

Sorry. They energy guns are made by Prewett, a company best known for their high end racing engines. You didn't realize they also made weapons.

Huh. Interesting. I'll have to do some research later to find out if this Prewett company is in any way associated with CentauriCorp. But that can wait until I've finished this mission for Katya.

So as far as I'm concerned, I'm good to go. Unless Rylah still has some specific place she wants to visit, I suggest we go meet up with the rest of the crew.
I will simply say:
"I could use a drink, what about you? I will pay."

"Sure, sounds good. I'm with ya there. Lead the way."
Helium and I will head for the bar/tavern and I will show my fake I.D to the barkeep. When he asks what I would like I will merely point to the rum. I will then look at Helium and kind of move my head as if I am saying 'pick anything you want.'

Helium and Rylah: Ozardel and Chloe are there. Again, the barkeep is completely unconcerned whether or not you may be carrying a fake ID.

Adventure? He asked if I was interested in adventure? Well if it means I can hightail my way off this planet without anyone realising, or discovering my past, I'd love that. Plus it beats the dullness of this planet.

*to Ozardel*
"Adventure? I'd lov- I mean I could do if you needed me. It's not like I WANT to or anything. I have experience in Engineering, so I know my way around a spaceship which could come in handy."
It's obvious from my face I'm lieing when I say I don't want to come, but I tried at the very least, to be conspicuous, to hide why I would want to adventure..

There's a girl who walks in, really young, some high tech thing on her head, similar to some thing I'm sure I've watched on TV.
I'm surprised by her want to strangle me, or at least I assume so.
"S-strangle? Girly, that's not what you do when you meet people."
I can only assume she is the daughter of some space pirate or seriel killer who moves between planets.

This day has been very odd, Murderous Small Girls, Space Adventurers who want me to adventure and even someone with light pink hair... oh and that mysterious person who actually questioned the world around him, I don't remember a time where that's happened with strangers on Malir.
