Actually, that'd be very risky. If YM had withheld kill, and you and Cap would still have defended the same person, the jig would have been up.
Withholding kill seems to indeed benefit Cap more. But I'll wait until YM and Cap are here before making any decisions. It is still possible Cap legitimately defended someone, after all.
I think that YM wouldn't benefit from it as I would be lynched by now. Demonlord's for some reason suspecting only me.

Yeah I know. I wouldn't have been super aggressive like that if I wasn't 99% sure, and since we have three townies I didn't see any harm in throwing out the first vote.
The thing that bothers me most about cap is the rest of us have confirmed use of our powers, and unless scum has more than one power it can't be anyone but cap.
I guess the other possibility is that scum has both a nightkill+shot, or a nightkill+defend which would be kind of weird.
What sense would a scum protector make? It would only work if the doc's partner were townread enough to be protected by multiple protectors, while being suspected by town gunners enough to shoot at the partner.
Scum gunner on the other hand can get cheap credit for killing other townies. And they can overdo it. The first one is unusable, the second one has a deliberate strategy to it.

I claimed defender before there was much knowledge about roles in the game, and I even came under pretty heavy fire because of the fact it doesn't generate messages, but I gave clear details on how it works, and cave had the exact same role and didn't come after me. I also defended him night 1 when there was no nightkill.
Jeroen claimed after I did in other to help prove my innocence. His role isn't the exact same as mine, but it was a dual role that scum has should have no knowledge of. He also admitted to being one of the two to take a shot on day 1, whereas one of the other gunners died, making 3 gunners in the game, where 2 shots were fired.
Meanwhile we have no confirmed use of power by cap, so I would like to know who he defended last night.

My actual role is that of a protector. Now I am even more inclined to believe you. Defender is just easier for me to type.

Actually scratch that, you could have easily seen it was called protector from when cave died, but you responded rather quickly on noticing that so I don't think you are lying.
I get you now, you're assuming that I'm not a protecter and that gunman is a role wolves didn't know about.
Hm, would you recognize if one of the gunners was a 1-shot vigilante? Or they can be both gunners with one of them being aligned to mafia? That would make sense imo. Distributing kps is always little difficult to balance and this would make most sense to me.

I now think we're in one of three scenarios:
1: YM attacked me and got stopped by Cap and demon.
2: YM made a ballsy nokill move and it backfired.
3: Cap made a ballsy nokill move and it worked.

Now, Jero witholding his night action doesn't make much of a sense. If he killed YM or Demon, it would be an easy route to victory.
On the other hand, the game would be much easier for scum YM as demonlord voiced a strong suspicion against me yesterday. YM would benefit from Jero's death the most.

I agree with that list. After this discussion, and looking back a bit, I'm starting to get the feeling ym is the better target. Cap is making very solid arguments right now too.
What we know now is that one gunner is very likely anti-town. Given their earlier suspicions, I would be ideal target for both Jero and YM. Why am I still alive?
I'm still not sure about this. It's...kinda plausible, if you think about one thing: The fact that no one died yesterday.
It sounds ridiculous, but maybe the Witches do not have the ability to perform night kills every night. That would explain why there's only been one Witch nightkill so far. In that context, it would make sense to have a scum gunner.
For what it's worth, like Jeroen, I abstained from shooting anyone this time round.

demonlord is now more cleared than ever. If somehow he had been scum, he could have simply said he hadn't protected me and accused Cap of lying and YM and I would have jumped on him like mad wolves.
Also, YM was tunneling Muffle for days and avoiding voting Ozzy the longest time. And I'm surprised that he noticed my comment about shooting esby. Or was someone else suggesting it too?

Incorrect, there were two kills in a row and we know that both cave and jero were protected.
