"Maximum Ride: The Final Warning"
Ugh. I LOVED the first 3, but it seems like the series is rapidly deteriorating into a bad "Save The Earth" charade. There's almost no mysteries or wondering left, so as I began reading this and finished it, I totally lost interest in the series. Although, I am looking forward to the movie. I expect it'll bring back the nostalgia of the good ol' Max, not the "OMG ICECAPS ARE MELTING!" one. (blegh)
Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri.
I really liked The Namesake, so this ought to be just as good. ("I'd J-hump-a her!")

I am rereading The Sandman. I have not read it since Freshman year, astonishingly, which was the first time I read it. (I think I have re-read Akira, Watchmen, and V for Vendetta at least twice each since I first read them, which was more recent than my Freshman year).
Born Standing Up by Steve Martin.
Read Shopgirl. Steve Martin might be getting stuck with the movies Pauly Shore used to have to make nowadays, but his writing is incredible. Plus, even though I hate most nonfiction, I like autobiographies (i.e. If Chins Could Kill or Catching the Big Fish).
EDIT: Cries in the Drizzle by Yu Hua, a name which I always misinterpret as "Yua Ho."

Travel In The Ancient World by Lionel Casson. I like the anecdotes and stories about ancient travellers. ;D
Also Bone by Jeff Smith.

orig, i'm sad to hear you didn't enjoy his dark materials. that's gotta be one of my favourite series'.
Yeah... :'( Still glad I read it, though. Kinda wish I read it when I was younger. Maybe I'd've appreciated it more.
Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis
Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis
Currently reading two books, Bram Stoker's Dracula and a biography of Abraham Lincoln. Dracula's boring, I'm probably gonna quit reading it. Lincoln is very interesting though, only because the biography describes so many shortcomings with the guy (one of the minor ones- very socially awkward around the fairer sex!)
it is pretty sad that i have a really limited knowledge of canonical literature yet i am still more well read than most of you seem to be. yall should go read a book, it is good for you + your soul. im reading some collected borges, motherfucker wrote a lot. also reading the illuminatus trilogy which owns!!! it owns!!!!!!! also ill get around to finnegan's wake sometime
