author=ankylo link=topic=3474.msg71148#msg71148 date=1240023239i KNOW! Maybe I'll rig something up monday...
also, you guys need like a wiki or something to organize all of your stuff.

Polling time...
1)- VS -
2)
Which is the style for Missiongarde?
What if you could toggle between the two with SHIFT? :D
1, and also it reminds me that we need to have polls. For the longest time we've been on the forums and I've never noticed that we don't have polls.
1, it looks good, would be easy to map with and sets itself apart from other 8-bit games like Hellion and Generica (not saying they're bad or anything, but it'd be best if it had its 'own' style).
Besides - it's bright and colourful. ^.^

with a bunch of people working together to make old-school graphics, the least you can do is make ORIGINAL ones

Fail. ::)
But seriously, the point of this project is to bring people together and make a game. Graphics probably don't even take second seat, or third, aside from consistency of style. I'd be much happier if the community spent their time working on gameplay aspects instead of graphics.
Also, the current title of this thread mentions Battle Style. Was that discussed already? I can't keep track of this monstrosity >.<
seriously, i bet i alone could wip up a set of dragon-warrior like graphics in a week, enough for most of the game.
What if all encounters where one party surrounding another, determined by a rock-paper-scissors thingy before battle
Like, when a fight triggers, a rock, paper, and scissors hand icons appear, the player picks one, and battle starts like that?
ALSO: I say FFMQ style, or even heroes no top monsters on bottom. :o

I'd say go with one. It's easier on the eyes, and has a nice style to it. That's why I was goin' to use it until the project went kaput.
I'm not in on this, but that's my two cents. =B

DEFINITELY 1.
I'll hop on the and go with 1, the grass is hideous but I don't remember many (any) games that use it compared to the DW4 chips.

Well, we DO need a ton of charsets.
Now, as to BATTLE STYLE...
...BUT with FFIV style monsters?
Not really important to someone like myself, but FFIV characters do have fewer colors, which could make them better candidates to drop the color pallete down on them if that's what you were planning to do to keep the NES feel.
