Hey there. Joined up for Misao nominations, an decided to get posting.
So these are all the screenshots from my latest project. Apologies for the image-heavy post.

I'm really digging those maps, Rockman. How far along is the game?
Looks really nice. I really like that railroad thing in Zozo that you have.
Some screens from my project that I'm slowly working on.
Choose your character. I have to eventually change the blue backgrounds to the black with green vines around it. And change the font in them.

RockmanNeo, you GOTTA show the creepy castle screenshot. That is one hell of a map. I don't know where I saw that thing, but it was gorgeous.
Oceans, you have some cool plants growing. All over the place. They've got a cool style to them. Just something I've noticed from several of your screenshots. I also dig the old school style. I used to experiment with it a little bit. (I wasn't as good!)

author=Chartley link=topic=5.msg480#msg480 date=1181711282Ahh, but that's cheating. Most of it is nicked entirely from the original Seiken Densetsu 3 map. Besides, it isn't finished yet. You probably saw it on the IGP.

WIP, thanks. I haven't done much work on the game yet, mainly getting some key areas down. ^_^
Alright, here are some screens from my new survival horror project. As you can see the first part of the game takes place in a hospital. I'm still thinking of adding some lighting effects but I completely suck at it :(
Looks pretty good to me. It looks like a hospital!
What's that gauge in the top-left? Health?

Leave out the lighting effects, they're for chumps.
And guys, if it's "survival horror" your life bar is supposed to be small. Two zombie bites and you're DEAD.
Please note, you are required by law to have at least one scene where zombie dogs jump at you through a window.

Whoa. Awsome screen shots Ocean, I'm finding the look great (and I mean REAL great.) Just makes me wish there was a demo of it even more =\
What's that gauge in the top-left? Health?Yeah, that's a health gauge and it's so small because health points are not the crucial thing in my game.
Please note, you are required by law to have at least one scene where zombie dogs jump at you through a window.lol, maybe not a zombie dog but someone (or something) will definitely jump through a window.
Thanks for the comments!
The font is from a font pack in GamingGroundZero. Search under files, in Miscellaneous for fonts. I think it's labelled as an FF6 font (There'll be a Chrono Trigger and an FF7 font in there too). Then I just backed up the old RM2000 8 font files, and put the new fonts in.
I liked how it looks, so I'll probably include the font with the demo when I eventually stop playing Oblivion and continue working on my game.

Not exactly breathtaking, but I felt I should post something!
That too.
Nice to see you're programming the collision detection properly. ^_^
That looks very promising, WIP. There's some Super Metroid background tile rips here which you might be interested in, if you haven't got them already.

We're actually going to be using completely custom graphics. And it would be harder to use SM graphics anyways, since we're using 20x20 tiles!
RockmanNeo: As a lover of Rudras and FF6, I salute you. Again and again. Seriously man, that looks fantastic.
Ocean: <3
holb: While screens can't decide whether or not a game is good;
we can make it pretty.
Also, we have a different windowskin now, and some of the dialouge shown has been edited. But, like, who reads text in a screenshot anyways?

I assume you're using ika, in which case I'm wondering how it deals with tilesets. Is it just one big image, or are all the individual tiles themselves images. Images in opengl generally have to be a power of 2 in their dimensions, otherwise you have to resize them (or use some slower mode in opengl or something). So all the images would be resized to 32x32 anyway, taking more time and resouces than you need.
