Actually doing some mapping now, how about that? Although Vista is really REALLY stingy about extracting rars and/or making rars in the C Drive...that's going to be extremely annoying to deal with.
Also thinking of how to fix up some abilities in-game. Not sure on how to do so, as it may either make the character even MORE useless or more useful but...
EDIT - Now currently raging at Vista for being a POS and not saving anything in the C Drive (I had to move my project to desktop, which means I lost a whole 2 maps I made...and some bugfixes). Le sigh...

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Been making skillsets for SECRET GAME~
I'm not sure there's any part of game design I enjoy as much as making skillsets for characters, except possibly making them for enemies. Last night around 10 PM I was like "Hmm I should work on this design doc a little" and then at 6 AM I was like "Hmm I can't actually see the computer screen any more, maybe I should get three hours of sleep before work"
You'd think the ideas I come up with when I am so tired I cannot actually read what I'm writing would not be very good. But sometimes they're actually the best ideas. My brain makes these brilliant links between things that it wouldn't have the processing power to make if I were distracted by obnoxious things like sensory input and coherent thoughts. Also I'm far less likely to get distracted by TV Tropes or forum threads.

Skillsets are quite alluring for some reason. Maybe it's the satisfaction of coming up with new things for characters/enemies to do and making them specialized in something hmm?
I had to redraw my main character. The portrait was absolute bollocks (I think I was having an off day) since this revised version is exactly how I want him to look. He's able to be adorable, evil, a mix, serious, aaah~
I also needed to fix his hair for REASONS

Well, now that I've more or less decided to try to make something for the Cook Off, regardless of whether I'll be able to finish it or not, I'm preparing VX Lite with the RTP sprites and stuff I'll need.
...Modsbannit, do I really have to convert all this music from Midi to .ogg? Really? Lite won't take MIDI? *sigh*
Fortunately, I've had a story cooking in the back of my head for a while that'll be great for a short game, so I don't need to spend much time planning that.
I am now curious about this character. :P

Did you try using the Initialize MIDI function in the menu and dropping the music into the Audio folder directly? AFAIK Ace still takes MIDI and there's no real reason why Lite shouldn't especially if it has MP3 support like it does (I mean who MIDI use? :|)

His hair looks basically the same, just one less layer of unkemptness I guess. The outfit looks a lot less Men In Tights, though, so I approve of the change. The supposed differences in ART DRAWING QUALITY are presumably there but I can't actually tell because I don't know how to look at art! I guess the facial structure is a little different but neither looks "wrong," possibly because a lifetime of watching anime and reading amateur webcomics has trained me to ignore any differences other than gender, hair color, and hair length rounded to the nearest foot.
His outfit is very Men in Tights. The game is set late 13th century, and what I researched sketchily had the outfits quite close.
In terms of hair...yep, just a slight alteration for my own purposes. The main reason I redrew was because the first one made it very hard for me to make facial expressions that I felt matched 'him' as a character. I was only able to get a few done and they felt badly made. The colouring also turned out horrendous and in the end it was enough to prompt me to attempt doing a complete retry.
old neutral vs new smiling:

I think I was having a bad day (this approximately 48 hours between drawing times)

I like the new one better, especially the colouring - it just seems cleaner somehow, and the change in design in places makes it look a lot nicer and less 'Men in Tights' as was said.

It runs them just fine. It just won't let me import them. And I was planning on just importing the rest of the RTP music to work with.
Eh, whatever. No big deal.

I like this character. :) He looks really good. The new version looks less "loopy evil", and more "looks nice on surface, but can get nasty if he wants to".
@Kyrsty: the new one is better in the sense that his details a a little more descriptive (for instance, the laces that hold together his shirt actually look like laces and not black lines). I like the way you shaded the hair on the first one, though. Maybe take the good elements of both and combine the two?
On my end, I'm doing some bugfixing for Tina of the Stars. I'm honestly considering on scrapping the idea of the extra game just because I want to move on and it's becoming really difficult to implement. Opinions on the matter?

Ditto on the hair shading and laces. Not sure whether I like the old or new's face better. I'm favoring the roundness of New, but Old's good too. I especially like that New's collar is open a little wider. No matter what, keep that. The more detailed folds around Old's underarms looks better and more pronounced.
Just finished setting up Leander and Fionn to be properly play-worthy. All their elemental resistances and weaknesses are set, they've got their skill lists, whoot.
Now I just need to start working on enemy skills and set ups, gulp. I know I want one of the enemies in the forest to be a real dick and 'analyse' the two, then start using a Photosynthesis skill (essentially attack them with sunlight). Hohoho.
They're going to have a good bitch about it, too.

Duh. I'm still trying (and failing) on that animated_monsters thing, getting it to run through config. Even though supposedly I've declared it dragon's job and none of my business, I'm obsessed with solving it. You'd think with Cherry, Pepsi, Kaze, and dragon one of them would've told me something that would just "click" and I'd solve it in like five minutes.
...I have no idea how to do this, what I tried is not working.

Currently trying to make a bestiary for the upcoming dungeons left in the game, only to find out that I have like...30 more dungeons left in the game. Sooo many dungeoooons...also, like 100 something bosses in the second half of the game. Yeah, this game loves its bosses, I can tell you that much...
Also still mapping, and trying to figure out good mapping ideas for the current area. I need more people to brainstorm with other than myself ;___;

I just added a crapload of stuff to KazString. I wanted a C++ style variable rather than a rpgmaker variable, and store it in arrays, switches, or anything I choose really. I even added a random number generator, just for the heck of it.
It does alot of stuff that can already be done by variables and such, but I could also make a local switch, in a roundabout way. Or convert a variable result into ON/OFF for a switch.

Hey guys, I have a quick question : Is it okay if the characters can do more damage than the amount of HP they have ? I have a character with over 1500 HP at level 5, and he has a skill that can do about 1900 damage (Over 300 damage per hit, 6 times). I also have another one with 1200 HP at level 1, and she has a skill that deals over 1500 damage (About 300 damage per hit, 5 times). :D
Another one has a special skill that does over 7000 damage, which takes 100 TP. Should I fix these ? :P

It doesn't matter how much HP they have, it matters how much the enemies have. It's not unusual for enemies to have several times as much HP as players. Lots of games have players increase in their ability to survive via armor and healing, while monsters don't have those things so they increase in their ability to survive via HP instead.
It's a lot rarer at the beginning of the game, though.
