Here's a really interesting survey of how artists feel about the internet, piracy included ( first PDF of the google search) :https://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=singers+and+internet+piracy&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
61 pages long :O Sorry, not going to read it.
Besides, I'd rather hear directly from the mouths of artists/musicians what they feel about the internet and copyright. We have a bunch of them on this site.

61 pages! that IS a lot, I didn't read it all needless to say, but already the first 2,3 pages are interesting and.. unexpected (at least for me). It wouls seem the artists themselves are not over worried, at all, about piracy and in fact, find the internet a very useful tool of publicity etc. Which is quite interesting to know when the governments and/or middlemen are trying so hard to pass liberticide laws (is what I meant to show).
It's mostly the middlemen trying to protect their industry anyway.
Thanks to the internet, I can PM harmonic or Archeia and commission some work directly, without having to deal with harmonic's record studio or Archeia's publishing company.
