Hello! This is my game, Fire Kingdom, which is a RPG with 10 skills,
-Combat
-Fishing
-Agility
-Legend
-Farming
-Hunting
-Building
-Plundering
-Rogue
-Scroll-Making
-Herbalism
-Holyness
-Crafting

Combat:
Combat is the main focus of the game. There are many monsters to attack and they all drop a "rare" item which will be very useful later on in your grand quest.

Fishing:
Fishing is a very helpful skill. There are sardines, trout, salmon, lobster, and shark to fish, each giving their fair share of experience. They heal food when eaten and cost bait to catch. (They also heal a bit of Magic Points back to your character as well) This is probably the first time that "going out to waste some time" is a good thing. Put those rods to use!

Agility:
Probably one of the most useful skills in the game. It helps you through difficult quests, and makes secret passages accessible to eager players. It also aids in combat by making a character dodge certain attacks when necessary.

Legend:
Legend is a gateway to higher-tier materials in the game. The point of the skill is to explore caverns, defeat monsters, complete puzzles, and defeat the final boss. There will be 10 floors, but only 8 are completed. A player can access the caverns by floors of 2 at a time at the starting door. 1, 3, 5, 7, (9). When in the dungeon the player goes up a cavern at a time, making 2, 4, 6, 8, and (10) accessible. The higher number the cavern, the more xp is given. Cavern 1 requires a level of 1 to access, 2-10, 3-20, 4-30, 5-40, 6-50, 7-60, 8-70,9-80, and 10-90.
The rewards consist of a wide variety of scrolls, weapons and armour. The scrolls are used to unlock secret areas that bear extra resources. The weapons and armours are very helpful in combat situations, but take quite some time to achieve.

Farming:
Farming is viewed by many as a very 'relaxing' skill. The reasoning behind this belief is that it is a very passive skill. Many beginners will believe that one must look after their plants until they are ready to harvest, but it is quite the contrary. It is expected that one lets their plant timer run down until it is ready to harvest whilst gaining experience or making money in different areas of the game. The benefits of farming include making consumables which heal health or magic, making weapons that aid in combat, crafting original concoctions which can be used to boost a character's speed, or simply making money.

Hunting:
Hunting is a skill which uses tactics to master. With every level, the chance of failure decreases - making it more profitable as well. There are a variety of animals ranging from rabbits to frogs to bulls to even tigers! Overall, the uses of the skill are varied and can aid different skills depending on the animal being hunted.

Building:
This skill consists of building one's own home from scratch. The uses are varied and usually offer increased experience/hour in many skills that require a lot of transportation by offering teleports to very useful locations. Other uses include crafting ingredients that offer double produce, double catch from fish, storage for consumables, and upgrading armours.

Plundering:
Plundering is a story-based skill, which requires completion of a very difficult quest to commence. The skill itself is very self-explanatory. It includes stealing from the rich in order to amass riches and become prosperous. The money can be used to do anything one pleases.

Rogue:
Solely based around the Combat skill. This skill might not offer much money, but it does offer the ability to unlock many different weapons and armours which are very useful for defeating the final boss. Experience rates vary based on a chracter's combat as well as a chracter's Rogue level.

Scroll-Making:
The purpose of this skill is to craft scrolls from papyrus at many designated obelisks. Higher scroll-making levels offer more useful scrolls, or scrolls with different uses. Most scrolls are very useful, bearing combat abilities, teleports to different locations, different spells, or tertiary ingredients for enhancing potions or consumables. Selling scrolls is also an option, and makes quite a pretty penny. It is also possible to craft multiple scrolls per papyrus, but it is based on what level a character is in the Scroll-Making skill. Experience rates are deemed rather slow, but can increase greatly based on completion of other skills.

Herbalism:
The whole purpose of this skill is creating potions that will aid you in combat. These potions range from Accuracy potions which can be helpful if you want to be able to hit critically more often, to strength potions, which help you raise your maximum damage output, to health potions, which can raise your maximum total health during a battle. Keep in mind, these potions are all temporary and wear off after combat. The higher a player's herbalism level is, the stronger the effect of the potions you make can be.
This skill is intended for difficult battles, that require an extra boost to be able to pass.

Holyness
This skill has to do with the player's connection with Urothmus and Holaria, the banished gods. They have been banished to another realm by Ferrous, the new god, and they have tried sending messages to your realm. The unfortunate thing is, deciphering these messages require a higher intelligence. By killing monsters and siphoning free-running messages, a player can earn different types of fragments which can be combined to form different usable items, which you could use for your own good, or could also use to increase your communication power with these gods.
This skill is very useful if you wish to defeat Ferrous and his army. Using this skill, you would be at a great advantage.

Quests:
There are many quests, which bear from little amounts to great amounts of XP. Quests are worth doing, because they will help you throughout the game. The first quest you will encounter is the "rat catcher" quest. It requires the player to catch the sailor's rat. The rewards unlock the boat to Lakiki island and the Fishing skill. Quests are also a fun way to pass time in the game, as it offers a storyline one can follow when bored from training a skill.

I hope you enjoy your experience while playing this game. I can say that there is over 500 hours of gameplay packed in this epic adventure - and it is well worth trying it out.

Updates for 2/21/14

Well, it's been a while. And I wanted to say that I'm not dead - and I have been working on this game even if I haven't been posting every single update like I did in the past.

I took some time to share the game with some friends so they could test-play it first before releasing it to the public like this, so now that I believe that it is ready. I will be releasing it will all of these updates:

V2.22
-Updated nearly all attackable monsters to have a yellow HUD displaying the name and level on the map before having to enter combat.

-Improved Crafting for dragonhides
-New Dragon dungeon in Combat guild (Liseran Dragons Level-405)

V2.14
-Updated Crafting once again (this time the level-up display is fixed, opacity is set to a much higher setting, allowing players to actually see the level-up display)
V2.13
-Added a Level-Up Display message so that players that have leveled up will notice immediately, rather than having to check their menu screen.
V2.12
-Updated Crafting (Added more dragonhide options to crafting)
-Removed a wandering Santa from Creekside.
V2.1
-Holyness received a use for sprites: Boosters.
-Booster can be used to gain permanent experience boosts in certain skills when worn.
-Boosters can be bought according to a player's holyness level.
V2.05
-New Skill "Crafting"
-Crafting uses hides from hunting or dragonhides or gems to make into useful items that can be worn which enhance one's ability in combat.
V2.0
-New boss rogue tasks
-updated graphics for some characters

I hope you enjoy these updates!

I am sorry to all who tried the christmas event. I had completely forgotten to put a teleport to the christmas event, but with the new version, this should be fixed. Enjoy the event while it lasts!
Looks awesome! I'll make a review later for it.
This game profile is quite the oddity. 90% of the posts are from the creator, there's only 2800 page views and 500+ downloads?? and nobody even admits to having played it(ok, one person). This looks like a mediocre "first game" at best and it's "a bit buggy" with skills that are "incomplete" and only a few quests. I'm not trying to be hater but I can't wrap my head around those numbers o.O

I forgot to update the game page for the info. I updated the quests, all the skills are fine, except Legend which is not finished yet. I will update that page now. Thank you for reminding me.
As for the downloads, some people don't make accounts and download it. Some people may wish to not write about the game because they don't like it that much or others just don't have the time.

Here's a few things I've found while playing this game that I thought might do well if brought to light.

• I get that your character's strength is supposed to come from equipment, but it felt awfully unrewarding to level up just to get a 10+ HP bonus. This coupled with my next point could be seen as problematic.
• I spent all of my money obtained grinding on the low level enemies on potions, while you say that I should be working towards getting full bronze for the next area. I spent 20 minutes fighting the same monsters just to reach lv.4 or 5 so that I could be strong enough to stop taking damage from monsters, allowing me to get enough cash for a single cheap armor piece. You may want to consider lowering the price of items/equipment and/or raise how much you receive from battling.
• The areas are much too large and empty. I understand that this is your first game, but I would recommend shrinking the areas at the very least until you've got enough RM* experience to improve.

Due to these three things, I ended up quitting after 20 minutes and was therefore unable to see much of anything beyond the tutorial, first forest and first town. I did wander further to the second town but no longer had the drive to try out fishing. I know that this is going to sound like community hive-mind mixed with a broken record, but you should try playing other people's games to get a feel for how they created their games in terms of mapping and grind-to-reward mechanics.

Also, you should probably stop bumping your game page up with every little post you can (including in your images), because it typically leaves a bad taste in community-goers mouths to see a stream of creator name posts when their game isn't getting hyped. I'm sure that when people find out about your game and become interested, they'll bump the page for you.

I understand your frustration, and will probably lower the prices of armours at the shop. The thing that frustrates me in your feedback though, is the lack of experience in playing the game. You have ONLY played for 20 minutes, and have ONLY done so little in the game. The game is meant to be challenging, so dedicated players can feel a sense of difficulty while playing. Of course, you might not be into challenging games, but rather enjoy games directed towards younger players. Might I suggest Maplestory, or several Iphone games that can be easily found on itunes. Have a very nice day and christmas.

I'm sorry, but was that really necessary? I offered some very reasonable criticism (something you've admitted to wanting on the previous page) and you decide to ignore it because I only spent 20 minutes playing before giving up, which is actually much longer than I would have given it had I not felt like pushing myself to accomplish something before doing so.

Your game isn't "challenging" if you're just intentionally screwing the player while leaving no room for skill development, having everything else come down to mashing 'Enter' (I recall no way to restore MP early on and starting at 0), I hope you understand that.

Oh my...that sounds slightly insulting and condescending.

One thing you have to realize is that there are 100's of awesome games on this site that look good and play good. It's your job to pull players in using good game design principles. Don't expect anybody to play through an hour of terrible gameplay because it gets better later or you and your friends think it's okay. If you really want to learn to make better games, consider the possibility that your games are bad and need to be improved. I can tell from the screenshots that the mapping is not good. And no, I did not and will not play this game. And no, I do not have to play the game to be right.

So instead of insulting one of the few people to actually take the time to give feedback, you might be better off examining the root of the issue. He only played for 20 minutes because the game is not balanced. Understand what it means to have good balance and become a better game maker. Your not going to have many people giving feedback and with a bad attitude things will get much much worse.

(You have no idea how hard it was to say all that without being an ASS)

Thank you, I am truthfully sorry, but I did spend much time and effort on this game. The reason why the beginning of the game is not as good is because it was made years ago and was never touched since. But because of his feedback, I was actually able to update it and make it better and fun for new players. I am very sorry and did not mean to insult you like that. I hope you forgive me and give it a second chance.

Now I'm curious. Can you take a screenshot of your most recent map? I want to see how far you've come since 2009.

EDIT: After having looked at my character's progression, I found that there's a difference between my equipment strength and my base strength. I apologize.

For the Christmas event, I was able to find the second present, but I'm having trouble locating the other two.
Hey, I attempted to play this but found I needed the XP RTP installed in order to play. I don't suppose there's any chance of an RTP-independent version in the future?

EDIT: After having looked at my character's progression, I found that there's a difference between my equipment strength and my base strength. I apologize.

For the Christmas event, I was able to find the second present, but I'm having trouble locating the other two.

The first present is after the "rat catcher quest". You must go to the kirkwood forest and search in the east area. Try to catch the rat by clicking enter when near it. Bring the rat to the sailor North of Emporia (basically as much north as you can go). You will find a huge dock with a sailor near a boat. Talk to the sailor, give him his rat and you will be given 3 options. (sail to lakiki island, don't sail, or help fish.) When you help fish you must look in the barrels that are located around the fishing area.

For the 3rd present, you must try out the Legend skill, it is located in the first legend dungeon near the rock. You must be south of the rock and press enter in order to get the present or you'll get a message that you can't access it from there. Once you have the present you can simply exit the dungeon by pressing enter near the orb south of your location.

Hope you had fun with the christmas event. :)

Why can't you download the XP RTP?
Just wondering what's keeping you from getting it.
I played the game quite a bit and got this far:
-18 Combat
-23 Fishing
-17 agility
and 22 legend. Im sorry but its really hard to train legend. i only got it to 22 because of the santa quest which also took a long time to make. will you by chance make it easier?
anyways. i really like the first couple quests you added into the game. it makes it fun for starter players like me. i dont need to whack animals nonstop for coins to buy armour and weapons. i can just do these starter quests and i am all geared up. thank you also for making xp from monsters better. i realized now that it was faster to level up on my new account. i'll tell you more when i have more to say.
can you also put up a guide for christmas quest thing? it might help others too.

Sure if you want, I can put one up.
As for your stats, they are pretty decent and I hope you are having fun :)

I could be a jerk, and bounce the question back ("Why can't you just make this game stand-alone? Just wondering why downloaders of this game should also be required to download the XP RTP."), but instead, I'll just say that there are people who don't have the RTP, and don't care to download it for "just one game".

I don't know why people need XP RTP to download. I started the game just by opening it and just beginning to add things. If you need it, then just download it it's simple as that?

Where is the first legend dungeon, because the only dungeons I've come across up to now are the water (lv.14 fishmen) and fire (lv.21 baby dragons) dungeons?

Unless you put the RGSS in the folder of your game, any one who wants to play your game is going to have to download it, if he/she doesn't have it already, that's just how it works. Most of the time, it is the player who takes it on him/her to download it, but a lot of people don't know that (like you!).
