Hello, Time Travelers!
I've been absent for the past year, working on a new project called Castle Greyrot. Imagine Shattered Hourglass bosses, dialogues, decision-making, and job system but it's set in dark medieval times.

The story is Castle Greyrot is a living being that changes its location every 10 years and corrupts its surroundings wherever it goes. As an experienced Commander, you are summoned to engage in a raid on Castle Greyrot.
With mercenaries on your side, you're about to venture to the Castle and destroy the unknown evil force within. It's that simple.

I really loved it, I think it's better than most of the oldschool rpgs. Less dialogue, more action!
I'm glad you are enjoying it, I always hated long cutscenes with 5 minutes of dialogues :~D
I decided to give this another go given the updates and the fond memories I had of this game the first time I played it a year ago or so.
So I downloaded the version 0.41 post game and had another blast, looking forward all the future upgrades and content additions.

A few things to point out though:
1) Some bugs are still present, the two most noticeable ones regard Suan, the first one is an annoyance, if other companions take actions there's a (very high) chance that Scan will crash the game. The only safe way to use Scan on Suan is to make every other companion defend for the turn. During boss fights this can be pretty bad.
2) The second one is game breaking, it's Reverse Potion of the Talk-a-maton class, instead of working on allies, it works on enemies. This trivializes almost every boss in game as none of them is immune to Toxic and the stat kills them in 5 turns. Chronos, Jaqn, Fujin, Zalgun... all ravaged by Suan's reverse potions in 5 turns. =D. This should probably be fixed asap, even though if it did get fixed, I have a feeling that it would be pretty weak considering the steep TP cost and the deadly status it inflicts. Maybe toning down the TP cost and changing the toxic to poison would go a long way.

I also have feedback about two things that are not really bugs, but that I'd like to see changed:
1) The first one is the fisherman side-quest. I don't know if this was changed recently, but this last time when I reached the spot and spoke to his wife, I was just told that her mind was blank and I could do nothing about it, this gave me neutral karma with no choice available and prevented me to reach 10+ good Karma (so no pure chest =( ). I don't know if there's a game time limit involved in this quest, but if there is, I'd really like for it to be removed as I don't like to be rushed around for the sake of completion :P
2) The second one involves the loot hunt difficulty, I honestly see little point in it, in fact Casual difficulty is probably still better for farming items since you also get exp. Going from 100% drop to 150% drop is not that much, really. 1% drop or 1,5% drop on avarage mean 30 battles less or so to see the item drop, but also 70 battles on avarage without any exp. The trade off is immense and quite frankly not worth it, in fact, I got most of my rare equipment (glass sword, granade launcher, ecc..) on Casual while farming for exp. What I'd propose would be to change this difficulty so it turned monsters into mini-bosses, so their stats skyrocket, but the drop chance of items skyrockets to 100% as well.
In short:
Current Loot Hunt -> Suggested Loot Hunt
HP: 100% -> 1000%
MP: 100% -> 1000%
Parameters: 100% -> 200%
Gold: 150% -> 0%
Drop Rate: 150% -> 1000000% (or whatever is needed to make it a guaranteed 100% drop of all items)

Well, this is just food for thought, hope you'll consider some of it. Thanks again for the great game!

Oh... wow Reverse Potion still works on enemies? T-this is horrible! I thought I fixed that... Thanks for bringing that up! I've fixed on my client and gave Suan's talk-o-maton debuff skills new stuff (like you said I lowered its TP cost and buffed MP a bit!), also Suan will have a new way to clear Toxic, Ignite and Frozen.

For Scan issue, I believe it happens because of 2 scripts working together on this one, one for Skill stealing and other is for weakness and strong points. I might need to seperate that one. Did that crash happened when using Exploit Powder?

Fisherman Quest is time limited, I'm very sorry :'( You have to go there before doing your first Hunting Mission, otherwise you'll be late for it :( Just like the other karma events if you don't react fast enough it'll be late. I'll make it 2 hunting missions instead of only 1 :')

Another thing I forgot: The Onigiri item says that it requires Silly mode to be activated, but I thought that Silly mode was removed from these last versions, right? (I did not get any choice at the beginning to choose between Silly and Serious mode) Is this text still intended or should the onigiri summon another boss fight?

One final suggestion (for the future, no rush about this): would it be possible to introduce a new game +? (carrying some items, gold and book data) It would be nice to fill all the identify book with all the possible enemies from the various paths of the game. Would also give more incentive to replay the game and see all the possible endings.

Oh boy, I see it now... I forgot to delete that event. I've messed that up! Also fixed that up. Yes, I've deleted Silly Mode stuff, Onigiri summons another boss fight with similiar old skill set.

I've tried that new game+ future before, it really messes up my game, resetting everything is way too hard stuff for me, I might try later on ;_; I also tried your difficulty suggestion... it ended up with a failure, I use an old script for difficulty settings and when I set up very high numbers even 1000%, enemies starting to hit 8k-9k damages. So I'll set the drop rate to 250% and HP, MP, Param 125%. I guess making everything boss like brokes the engine's limits lol

At least I've fixed Suan's issues :~D

Last time i played this was maybe 1 1/2 years ago 2 maybe.I was going for the neutral karma route and remember this was a really challenge sometimes.its good to see you have increased the droprate,i never really find out what all the rare drops may be(i think).
I`m a perfectionist often when i play this games.Wanna find and do everything.:) .That`s the really fun.

A lot has changed since that time :') I've toned down many things, especially with buffing useless skills and passives. I'm happy that you still consider playing this game after all those years. Neutral is also my favourite route! You can check what enemy drops what in Identify Book :')

1) Bug: Juliet's Recovery Mastery targets enemies instead of allies.
2) Balance: Suan's High Voice skill became useless, since it has the same cost of Lullaby but only applies Silence, whereas Lullaby now applies both silence and sleep.

Welp! Suan's High Voice actually debuffs enemy MAT 2 times. I forgot to write that on the description ahahah. I swear I looked at Recovery Mastery and it was fine... This game really likes toying with me. Thanks for your help once again.
I downloaded the latest version and gave it a restart for a little while. I just noticed that the "digimon" mini-bosses do not evolve to their adult form during the battles. So they end up giving 0 exp, 0 gold, no drops and no database entry, I suspect this is not intended.

This is very troublesome~ I had a video feedback a week ago and the script worked on that video without an issue. (no wonder, it's before the last hunting missions)
Edit: Tested it out and that happened on me as well <.<
My last added "perma states" script messes that up, it overwrites the death transform script :~D

Thanks for bringing that up, I've fixed that on my client and hopefully never happens again.

Just wanted to chime in as I managed to defeat the final boss of chapter 1, since you're supposed to lose this battle. The game is stuck forever when he has 1 HP because he stops acting and he's flagged immortal, damaging him further (i hit him with Burst for 400+) won't kill him, so the game is stuck on a sort of loop there, you can't win and you can't lose.
Kinda underwhelming, I felt like I needed a pat in the back there (ie uber exp/gold/item rewards =D)

It looks like I need to give him poison resist >:D Congrats lol! It sucks that death resist stops the flow of the battle... :<
I also thought about that idea~ giving players exp, loot by defeating the "Chronos" very early, but it would be very silly to think about that. As you said you are not supposed to beat him :')

Ah! Ester is a temporary character, only appears after you saved her. She can't save the Succubus victim. Actually, Succubus victim has no timer, you can save him anytime in the game. But Ester's event has timer on it, when you get your real 4th party member she'll be no longer in there~
