The story takes part in two different worlds.
One of them is the world we all live in. So does Josh together with his brother Alex and their father.
Josh loves video games and books and isn't much interested in his own reality.
His father disapproves this and blames his son. This became worse as their mother died.

But then on one day Josh finds a game in a small shop.
It has no real cover and only one word is written on the CD-case.
Erayu - the games title. Josh takes the game home and starts playing.

The other world is called Erayu. It's the games world, where once an immortal
princess reigned. But one day she disappeared and so seems the light.
Some places in that world are fallen into darkness and more followed soon.
One, who gets into that darkness never returns; not alive nor dead. As if he never existed.

When the game starts, one plays a boy, who awakes among some travelers.
His memories are gone and so he tries to find his way through a world he can't remember.

The game focuses on its story. You will accompany Josh through his everyday life, meet his family and play his latest game:

Erayu:
Here the game will be similar to a Point 'n Click Adventure.

- puzzles and item combinations
- many dialogues
- unique characters
- no battles
- self-made face sets
- custom menus
- collectibles
- a picture gallery
- two endings

Ho Ho Ho! Christmas is on the... shoe!
Let me tell you in a rhyme.
My poetry is so bad you will whine.

But let me tell you one thing.
You can get into Erayu's credits withing a... bling?

Just click the image and you'll find
a page to do stuff... of some kind.

so... i wanted to write you a nice proper review, and give it five stars. i procrastinated for ages, but finally wrote it, but then it got denied u__u i still wanna tell you how much i like the game, so i will just copy-paste it in its entirety here (and sometime in the future i have to figure out how to write a better review so i can actually give you those stars xD)

so, here it is:

i never know how to start writing something like this, but basically, i loved the game so much! and this review is long overdue... i finished playing it ages ago, but i am a terrible procrastinator xD

the story was interesting and different, captivating me immediately from the beginning. i liked the twists and turns happening in both parts of it, and the world building of the world inside-inside the game was great, none of it seemed weird or outrageous, quite opposite, it all fit so well

also, the game was absolutely gorgeous. maps, light and weather effects, color schemes, it was all just stunning, and a real pleasure to look at. honestly, that is the first thing i would say if somebody asked me what i liked about erayu. that it was so beautiful :3

i also found the user interface and the way that the game is played cool. i like the ordinary thing that most rpg maker games use, sure, but this unique way of playing gave the game special flavour

i also liked how characters were fleshed out and made unique. even though this is not a long game, you could connect to them and see them as more than just little sprites on the screen. they were also quite cute, specially the non-human ones xD

the only thing i kinda didn't like was the choice at the ending... because i am sucker for happy endings xD but well, it does not make the game less epic ^^

also, i saw you are not native english speaker. i know the feel, and therefore i have even more respect for you, translating everything and making it sound good is not an easy job, and you did it amazingly

and i think it is really cool you gave walkthrough. i mean, i did not use it much, the game was not too difficult, puzzles and all were very legit, but i liked that i could check did i find the collectibles (which i liked a lot, it was a really nice touch) or something like that

another detail, i love that there was no battles xD i am much more type for exploring and interacting and stuff like that, so that was also great to me

all in all, definitely five stars rating :3

p.s. sorry if i sound weird, i know i sound weird sometimes ;_;
Wow, thank you a thousand times! (\^w^/)
Maybe just add some screenshots here and there? *thinks*
Divide the review with some headings... uhm... that's at least what the others did. Also maybe let some person check the spelling before submitting? (I have no idea X,D )

It's sooo cool to hear that you had so much fun with the game! ^w^
I bet you will love the enhanced edition (when it ever gets done xD ).

Oh, I didn't make the translation. It was done by Kylaila (who is an awesome person for doing this huge amount of work! ;v; )
Maybe I'll do it myself next time. Guess my English improved a lot over the years and as long as I find people to prove read... hehe :D

Aaaw, you don't sound weird. :3
*hugs gothicmiriel*
*hugs back* ^-^ i really did enjoy it. i think i can definitely say it is my second most favourite rpg maker game of all times (and i tried... a lots of them xD). and definitely can't wait for the enhanced edition, like, just yasss *-*

oops xD congrats to kylaila then xD but it does not mean you did less awesome job with the game :3

and well, i will try again xD (i have a feeling i might have been too subjective? it says something like that in the guidelines for posting a review, to be objective or something similar, but i honestly don't get it. how can i write a review on whether i liked a game or not and not be subjective? it makes no sense to me u.u)
It depends on how well you do with the puzzles. :D
(There is a walkthrough though if you really get stuck)

It should be somewhere around 4-6 hours. Probably not less than 4, cause that's the time I need if I don't skip every dialogue. xD

:3
Oh my... wow. I know I'm a bit late here, but I just now found your game and... wow. This is beautiful! Love the story (kind of reminds me of Neverending Story)! :-) Which makes me happy. And I LOVE how you have so many animations for your characters. Really brings the game to life.

Definitely going to finish and check out your other games. :-) GREAT JOB ON THIS!
excuse me, but how do i make the game fullscreen?
