“I want to return.”

Have you ever made a mistake you regretted so much that you wish it possible to turn back time? That memory will never release you from its agonizing grasp for the rest of your life. But even if the present gave you the privilege to relive the past, would you have the strength to confront it? Or would your sins damn you into oblivion?

In our remake of Castle Oblivion, we've done a complete overhaul: Story, Character Development, Maps, and Gameplay worthy of current RPG players. The Castle welcomes newcomers and old-timers alike. And if you played the original, you’ll definitely want to revisit the Castle again.

Story Synopsis:
Vincent and Azen, two knights stuck in the rain, discovered a strange Castle. Their host was gracious enough to offer permanent refuge by kidnapping Azen with an overwhelming power. Not wanting to be next, Vincent abandoned his friend. After drifting through decades of guilt and wanting to redeem himself, the Castle returned. Vincent will find new friends and foes as he traverses the Castle’s memory-made worlds to rescue Azen, but can everyone overcome the shameful past?

Features:
- A rewritten and more expanded take on the original plot. Filled with tons of BANG!
- Re-balanced battles, designed for an enjoyable challenge, rather than frustration.
- Remade, detailed maps filled with variety. Makes the Castle feel more deep and alive than ever before!
- Stronger development for the different characters in the game.
- Save anywhere!
- Interesting and creative puzzles to solve!
- Rescue other trapped souls from the Castle!
- Find Recovery Crystals, which you can either use to heal or break for stat-increasing items!
- Witness Vincent's hometown, Port Brinks, evolve as the story progress.
- Lots of secret rooms and treasure are rewarded for the dedicated explorer.
- Optional Bosses and Dungeons to test your might and uncover more information about the game's world and characters.

Castle Oblivion: Remake is now on Game Jolt!

Yo-yo-yo! I've finally decided to take my next step as a developer to join the somewhat huge indie website called Game Jolt! The first game I have posted is this one (mainly since it's the game I'm most proud of so far). You can check it out right here: Castle Oblivion: Remake - Game Jolt Edition.

I also want to let you guys know that I am indeed working on my 5th game ATM, which should be revealed pretty soon (it's a pretty short game, so it won't take too long for it to release either!). If you're a fan of Adventure games, then make sure to stay tuned!

Thanks for all of the support and kind comments so far! I really feel like I need to do something to celebrate for the amount of downloads the game have received. Keep it real, yo, and I'll see ya soon!

random thoughts

cant de-equip gear. interesting so we wont need to upgrade or it will be plot based? :3

a bunny girl and caffeine :D

there should only be zombies as enemies in a graveyard

games too battle heavy. may end up dropping this.

the teleport crystals i am so happy we have them

tikal skips level 2 element spells and learns level 3?

i really wish this didn't have stupid stuff like the mayor...that just makes no sense at all...
why would anyone listen to that worthless piece of crap?

hnz has high SPI but no magic skills XD

wouldnt vincent become old again while outside the castle?

i wish when you sold something the selector stayed where you are rather then jump to the top of the screen

why sell the library key if you can get it for free?

the npcs in ghost town may want to alter there dialog when hanz is with you if they talked about him before he was in your party

General 1H 57M dropped
i just don't feel like it

Overall
to battle heavy for my taste
@: cant de-equip gear. interesting so we wont need to upgrade or it will be plot based? :3

You can, but not in the intro.

@: a bunny girl and caffeine :D

:D

@: there should only be zombies as enemies in a graveyard

Uhhm, what? There could be zombies in the graveyard, but there isn't. Well, at least not in that graveyard.

@: games too battle heavy. may end up dropping this.

Well, it IS a dungeon crawler after all. I can see how some people may not enjoy it as much as others though.

@: the teleport crystals i am so happy we have them

I'm glad to hear that their addition was worth it!

@: tikal skips level 2 element spells and learns level 3?

Yup.

@: i really wish this didn't have stupid stuff like the mayor...that just makes no sense at all...
why would anyone listen to that worthless piece of crap?

Well, most people on the first Floor have lost their faith and motivation to fight the Castle. The Mayor is one of them and is seen as protective figure that the townsfolk look up to. He's not supposed to be really likable though. xD

@: hnz has high SPI but no magic skills XD

SPI = Spirit, which determines both Magic ATK and Magic DEF. Even though Hanz is mainly a physical attacker, he will learn magic attacks as well later on.

@: wouldnt vincent become old again while outside the castle?

Not until he's truly free from the Castle. "You may leave the Castle, but the Castle may never leave you." - Gilgamesh

@: i wish when you sold something the selector stayed where you are rather then jump to the top of the screen

That's a good point. I'll see if I can implement something like that for future projects/updates.

@: why sell the library key if you can get it for free?

Why not? :O

@: the npcs in ghost town may want to alter there dialog when hanz is with you if they talked about him before he was in your party

Ah, I see that I forgot to change the Mayor's dialogue. *fixes it*

Thanks for reporting all of this and sharing your honest thoughts on the game! I've been thinking about making a "Story Mode" for this game. No promises though, but if there's demand for it, then I'll definitely consider the effort.
Hey, luiishu!

I'm thinking about the play-through of CO: Remake for my YouTube channel, and the first episode will come out sometime this month.

Even though it has over a 1000 downloads now, I'm still attempting to somewhat promote it further, I guess. (?)

Anyways, I'm still going to play the game for YouTube because it's awesome and a bit of promotion to this game!
That would be awesome, since no one has LP:ed/done a playthrough of the game on YouTube AFAIK. I always enjoy watching those. ^^

Feel free to upload your videos here in the media section, so that I and players of the game will be able to find it rather easily. You'll also get some sweet MS. ;)
Awesome! What's up with the dramatic camera movements though? xD

Whooo! Always fun to watch people play your game :D
Oh yeah. It's definitely one of the best rewards as a developer to watch people play your games.

Indeed! Every now and then I check around youtube and the net to see if there is any hidden gems that people didn't put on here or notify me of and I'm always ecstatic when I stumble across one lol
Same here. xD This is the first playthrough that I've seen of this game so far, so it feels a little extra awesome. I used to LP games myself, but stopped since I wasn't happy with my voice. :/ I might give LPing another shot if I become a better voice actor though.

You should definitely try again! And start with my games :P

I know it's probably just you but I never mind someones voice in LPs. So you shouldn't be self- conscience about that bro!
I really didn't have time to play games recently, but I finally found it to play CO. I completed it today and I must say I really enjoyed this 20 hour long adventure. Now I only need to beat those secret bosses :D The last battle disappointed me a bit, but it still was good :D I will probably post a review in a near future, but until then I have a question. Could you tell me where all the secret bosses are? As I'm not sure I've found them all and I don't want to miss any.
Keep up the good work, I can't wait to play CO2 :D
Congrats Luiishu til so many downloads.I completly missed it reaches 1000.
The game is a gem.And you really did a great work.
Im gonna play this and CO3 again in the near future.

I guess I'm just very critical when it comes to that stuff. xD I really do want to give it another shot sometime.

Thanks for playing, dude! I'm glad you enjoyed it. What part of the last battle disappointed you? I would love to have a review from you, since you're posts/feedback are usually very informative and useful.
About the Secret Bosses :
(In no particular order)
Boss 1: Head back to the Library after you've fought Dilan on the rooftop, and check the fireplace for a note and a key, leading to the Cellar. You'll find the boss down there.

Boss 2: Another secret boss is inside Mausoleum Room V on Floor 4.

Boss 4: There's another secret boss on Floor 4 that's inside the cave in World's Graveyard that is guarded by a black flame. The flame will go away if you've pressed the switch to the left inside the Laboratory.

Boss 5: A secret boss is waiting for you at the top of the Butterfly Falls on Floor 6.

Boss 6: There's a hidden boss in the Light Road on Floor 10. Just walk north and you'll find it without any problems.

Boss 7: There's a ladder behind a purple crystal at the end of the Great Crystal (Floor 9). Simply climb down the ladder in order to find the secret boss.

I'm pretty sure that these are all of them. Good luck!

Thanks man and it's awesome to hear that you're replaying the games! I was very lucky to have such a dedicated and observant tester as you for this game.

I guess I should something for the 1000 downloads milestone, eh? xD

@roger: I watched it. Keep up the good work!

Well I think that it was overall a bit too easy. Especially with poison as it takes ~5k every turn so the battle end pretty quickly. But I still liked it.

And thanks for the list. Fortunately I didn't miss any of them. They were quite fun battles :D
Didn't the boss heal himself when he got poisoned? :O I thought he would cast a spell that both healed his HP a bit and cured Poison, whenever he got affected.

Good job on finding all bosses! I thought they were really fun too! ;D They're definitely a large step up from CO3 IMO.

You could also try the battle without poison. :)
