Generic RM2k3 RTP Gaming Fun!

I always wanted to make that game based on everything I enjoyed as a kid. This is the end result.

Hero's Realm creates a super-synergy of proactive features to create a gaming experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Lead four heroes and their teams against the evil forces of Mephistocles, the Lord of Demons in this retro-RPG adventure. Toggle between the four heroes as you explore dungeons, ascend towers, spelunk caves, save villages and defeat the forces of evil! Reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy V, Hero's Realm is a fun romp in old-school RPG nostalgia.

-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun

The story is split into 5 chapters, with each of the first four chapters focusing on a new hero, and the 5th chapter bringing them all together.

Chapter 1: Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?
Chapter 2: There is Something Fishy Going on...
Chapter 3: Land of the Rising Son
Chapter 4: True Calling
Chapter 5: The War on Terror

To be fair, my monitor is fucking massive so the stretching RM2K/3 games have to undergo is horrific.
Yeah that makes sense i only have a 1366X768 monitor.

At home, I don't even have that. I have 2 monitors, but both are older than dirt and are max 1280x1024. I am hoping to buy a new one sometime before the end of the year.

Would it shock anyone to learn that I envisioned Holdana as being lesbian? :x

funny thing is that i did too the entire time.

now that i'm on the game page i wanna play this game again
So umm i would like to know something if someone can help me.
Ok so i have this thing where i like to name characters off of some of my family.

Anyway i was thinking about naming the 4 main heros.
But first i need to know a few things about them.

Ok first the models what models did you use for each hero?
Next is i don't know what kind of people the heros are.
Like for my sister i would like to name after the hero that is careing BUT also kind of headstrong.
For me I'm a really nice guy and i care about everyone and i hate to see one life lost.
Anyway what heros would fit that bill?
Holdana - Faris from FF5, earnest and hardworking. Doesn't shy away from a fight.
Zefyrin - Rydia from FF4, brilliant and caring.
Akira - Edge from FF4, headstrong and proud, if a bit rash.
Raj Ahtan - Yang from FF4, stoic and honourable.

to be honest none of the characters are really developed. I'd have to think about it some more.

What OS are you using? Maybe that can help us diagnose it.
I'm using windows 8.1.
-try running the EXE in Windows 7 compatibility mode
-try upgrading to Windows 10 for free

...that's all I got. I don't have Windows 8 on any of my machines. It appears to be a common problem, though, with fullscreen games and Windows 8

Ok so i updated to windows 10 and it worked but now i have 2 black bars on both sides of the screen is there a way to fix that i would rather have a true fullscreen.

I guess my sister would work with holdana
And Zefyrin sounds the most like me but i'm guessing the hero is a girl and I'm a guy so that won't work....I guess Raj Ahtan it is then :)

Or maybe i should just make us side party members.

I think that because of the ratio of the native RM2k3 resolution, and a widescreen monitor, you can't get rid of the black bars without distorting and stretching the game. This might be something you just have to live with.

HA funny how windows 8 give me a true fullscreen but slow down and windows 10 gives me no slow down but not a true fullscreen....oh well....i guess no slowdown is better.
Downgrade to Windows XP. That'll fix everything!
There's a GPU option to keep the aspect ratio when running at non-native resolution of your monitor. Google "gpu aspect ratio scaling" with whoever made your GPU (NVidia, AMD, Intel?) and hopefully there'll be directions of what setting you need to change. If they need a specific resolution then rm2k3 runs at 640x480 when in full screen mode.
This game looks amazing, and I'd love to continue playing. Unfortunately the font is painful to read.
Did you install the fonts here? Copy/paste them into your Windows/Fonts directory. Rm2k(3) is dumb with the fonts it comes with and these fonts fix that issue. The font should look like the stuff in the screenshots with these fonts installed.
Why curate your own gameprofile when GreatRedSpirit will do it for you?
I'm hoping through enough posting here you'll add me to HR's team list so I can leech off your hard work gameprofile and get out of the sand trap of 5355 ms since I appear to be physically incapable of submitting anything to get out of the rut myself.
Hi i have a question....sorry i'm new to this game.
Anyway how does the class stat system work?
What i mean is i know you can change your class but when i change to a new class does my past class matter....like say i have a warrior class and at level 40 i change them to a magic casting class will they be weaker do to having so many levels in a warrior class?
Or is it set on a fixed stat system were class stats are only based of the level and the class?
umm...... umm.... It's been so long I can't remember what I do. I think that if you change class in the first 4 chapters, it just resets the character to level 1 with the base stats. In chapter 5 when you get to the Temple of Class Change you can change classes, and what happens there is that your stats and levels are halved.

But I need to check first to be sure.

I see thanks for telling me....to bad the levels are not saved for each class after changing.
I'm still at the start of the game trying to think of a good class setup....
What i would like to do is make a class setup that helps with the main hero's short comings only thing is Holdana seems to be a jack of all trades right?

Sorry i often overthink character builds it's a flaw of mine :)
The heroes are capable in all areas, with a unique talent. It is similar to Dragon Quest III in that respect. They all have healing spells, offensive spells, and capable physical attacks, just to different degrees.

Personally, when I picked at team, I like to grab one class from the Mage-types, one class from the Warrior-types, and one class from the Rogue-types, and ensured that I had a class capable of decent healing, and a class capable of offensive magics.

You can read about what I thought of the classes in the end here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/82/tiers/
Hi sorry i know i maybe bugging you but i just ran into something and i don't know what i should do.

Ok so i was changing my classes but i hit the up and down arrows at the same time i can get some new classes now here is the issue i looked it up and it looks like the classes that i found are the classes you unlock at level 20 for a base class now my question here is if i pick a elite class from the list will they be weaker then if i leveled my base class then changed?
no they will be more powerful. You found a secret!
