It looks like I have to provide a few links to the VASSAL page, and the page for the Hero's Quest module.
Oh my...

Oh God. I had that game! My cousins and I would play it. My younger cousin (about 11 at the time) used to get an orc and dwarves, then sacrifice his dwarves in place of his orc. (We played with lenient rules)
This one time he got ultra lucky finding people to join his party and then just surrounded the hell out of wizard and fucked him to kingdom come. It was hilarious, especially the way we described it, with all his characters surrounding the wizard and chopping him up in a circle of steel and spells and unicorn horns.
Man, I really enjoyed that game a lot.
the game screams for custom rules. We already modified rules so that you get some loot with every creature you kill and once a player character dies, he/she becomes a zombie.
I died few times because as an elf I used magic to pass through walls. I always ended up in a room full of enemies -_- Rest of the group tried to hurry for my aid, but usually it was too late by the time they got there.
Marrend, .. I don't actually understand anything you're saying :D Darigaaz? VASSEL engine module?

I haven't played roleplaying games like this before and i feel a bit of a nerd for doing so, but hero quest was really awesome. We started a game with few friends and got around quest 4/14 in 7 hours. Can't wait for the next session :D

Smilwwithstyle, while i still haven't finished Dark Souls 2, i wouldn't say it lags behind. I actually like the "trilogy" as every title feels completely different while essentially being very similar. DeS feels like this fairytale gone wrong, DS1's world feels dark and hopeless and DS2 feels like the world of DS1 after hundreds of years of growth and prosperity, except something went wrong again.
I just saw what happened to king vendrick, and i must say it was the most touching moment along with sif in the whole series
(spoilers)
Also DS2 felt suprisingly difficult for me, although it was because i chose wrong paths in the beginning.

especially as the game hints of him being the playable character of DS1

JosephSeraph, Facesets are cute :3 I like your colorful outlines, especially with that girl Natalie. I just checked what that FPLE is, and WOW! that's really cool. I need to look into it. I'd really like to make some hardcore old-school RPG.
Schwer-von-Begriff, It's really shady. Dunno if too much, depends on the situation I guess. Because of black outlines, graphics give a little earthboundy-vibe. Looking good nevertheless.

Final Fantasy: Endless Nova

Looking Back: Final Fantasy Endless NovaI did that awhile back now, he'll all my articles now that I think about it. This was a great game and I can still remember the buzz around it even back then. It impressed me like no other, inspired a lot more fan games after it's release sadly. Like, does anyone remember Ancestral Vengeance? I think it was a Final Fantasy VII sequel, this was all before Advent Children and all that shit.
@Chris - Those look great, I'm sure Delita would've loved them :D I know I certainly would.
Edit - Btw does anyone know the title theme from this game?
I remember Anchestral Vengeance :) I really liked it, I believe the game somehow captured the FFVII feeling ...although though it was no FF Endless Nova. Endless Nova was one of the first rm-games I really liked. I even submitted some shotty fanart made in MSPaint to Delita Hyral X.
Your favorite game EVER!
author=pianotmauthor=0range00All of these games are awesome. I know I said Metal Gear Solid was my favorite all time game, but I'm still torn between that and FFVII. Silent Hill 2 was an excellent title. It's disturbing on a level the first one never even touched.
For me it has to be Resident Evil 2. I replay it every year pretty much.
Other strong contenders would be FFVII, Devil May Cry 3, Demon's Souls, Megaman X and Metal Gear Solid. They all give me this unique fuzzy feeling inside. They feel more than your generic entertaiment. I got feelings for them :P
Cashmerecat, i believe silent hill 2 is available on pc as well.
I was really torn with Silent Hill 2. I absolutely love it, but I don't own it and have only played it once. So I just can't put it in my favourites now can I? I have listened to SH2 soundtrack gazillion times however :) Beautiful filth.

I'm a fan of wizardry, so i'm definitely interested. Don't cryogenic tubes break the immersion of somewhat medieval atmosphere though?

Dark souls ii
I wasn't really feeling this game before, i mean it was alright and i was fairly happy just to get more Souls experience, but i just got through Iron Keep and fell in love with that place. It had everything i could wish for from a Souls-area. Oppressing atmosphere, evil traps, dangerous lesser foes and a great boss(not the final boss of the area).
