Is Marketing Killing the Wonder of Games?
It's the consumer's choice to 'ruin' the amazement and wonder. Developer's these days show a lot of material before release these days. You can often see many of the games locales and characters if you decide to look them up, not to mention new trend seems to be "leaked" material.
The player can also follow strict guides and FAQs to platinum the game as quickly as possible, or you can just look Let'sPlay from youtube if you just want to cross the game from your checklist.
Personally I choose to play games for fun and stray away from the over-exposure of trailers and info, and couldn't care less about FAQs and the most optimal builds for characters.

voxpopuli, that looks... Interesting to say the least. Combined the name you gave to that game, i'm looking forward to seeing more. Definitely at least stands out from masses!
sorceresskyrsty, that train looks whack! At first I thought it was some diagonal steel pillar, which I thought looked cool, but hearing it's a train... O_o i know it loses some of it's crasging effect, but honestly it would make more sense if it was aligned with the rails. Otherwise that screen looks really great, is that a FF8 fangame?

Ugh. Sorry my white knighting mode switches on sometimes when talking about megaman and few other capcom franchises. I spent unhealthy amount of time on this very anti-capcom themed board, remnants from that board still trigger occasionally :-/
anyways, yea, legends 3 was a big hit no doubt that woke people up as far as megaman is concerned. But people's feelings towards megaman were very much dormant before that. Only handheld games fared well and even those were in decline with ZX and Starforce series'
Megaman Universe didn't interest me personally that much as it was one of capcom's outsourced projects made in west and didn't have place in official timeline. Still it might have been throwback to classics in a similar way as this game is now.

i'm a big megaman fan so naturally i'm interested in this. All those people yapping about capcom not using megaman enough better buy this. Megaman was going downhill as far as the general interest went. Even with quality releases like megaman x8, transmission, MM9 and 10, people didn't care.
only now that megaman is "gone", they got vocal...

author=Oceanthis looks beautiful. I really like the colours used and the style of shading. Sort of bold contrast between different shades but it doesn't look too sharp.Screen from my game "The gift you gave"! :D

lol I used to hang out at GamingW quite a lot, but this is the first time I hear an actual explanation on what 3-tile rule really is. Everyone just passed it on as a joke or something.. Better late than never suppose.

He smashes his nose there. That happens if he is running and hits the wall.
Ah okay. Yea I get it now. Without the wall and movement it looked like biting :P

Hah cool! I love the shaking :)
it looks at one point that he's biting the club, is this intentional?
xenomic, it looks what it's supposed to, a buddhist temple. It looks good and i can imagine that big room working as a common element through-out those many floors. Your map seems to lean on realism as far as proportions and architechture go, sometimes impractical things like more compact rooms and curving corridors prove to be more interesting in these isometric graphics. Though it's a matter of style i suppose...

They're not really standing on the ground...
ha! true.. I wasn't aware of the measures used for battlebacks in VX ACE before making the background. I had some trouble fitting it properly so...eh, that was the result. I figured I could get away with it :P
But it started bothering me more now that you mentioned it and I tried to fix it with some dodgy photoshopping:
