I missed the entire PS1 and PS2 generation. I probably didn't miss much...
only the golden era of jRPGs. So not much... What was this board about again? ;)

oh yea, if you guys know any hidden gems, i'd appreciate it.
Shadow Hearts and Persona are definitely on my to-buy list. Dunno how i missed those years back
Silver Age at best. The SNES was the golden age.

i was gonna disagree with this but i suppose you're right in that SNES era established many of jRPG formulas that are still more or less unchanged. PS1 era however had jRPG at it's most ambitious state. I'd call it the pinnacle of jRPGs.

PS2 had great games but this era didn't innovate as much, more like all the elements got more refined. Then current gen has jRPGs all over the place lacking a clear dirwction.

I saw pretty cheap copies of drakengard 1 & 2 and also forbidden siren 2. Those looked tempting...

also i already got SMT Nocturne, The Warriors, RE Outbreak 2, FataƤ Frame 3, King's Field IV, Devil May Cry 3, Megaman X8 and Silent Hill 3 (all are great games if someone's interested)

Current gen games bore me now, so i've decided to switch back to PS2. I noticed all the games are really cheap for it too. Like people have yet to realize their worth. It seems like perfect time to purchase gems of the shelves before their prize goes 20x.

so any suggestions?

The Screenshot Topic Returns

TDS, that looks like one of those puzzle RPGs for iOS. Like might and magic: class of heroes and others alike. In any case, it looks good.

My game idea im working on , any advice

uh i don't quite understand your problem...

it's nice to see you got ambition and spirits to really make something (to the point of paying someone o_O) But really don't rush things and burn yourself in the progress. It's best if you continue making this game in more relaxed pace. Everyone on this board can tell that their first projects were filled with problems and obstacles because of lack of experience.

take it easy and get familiar with the maker. Really.

also a starter tip would be to post some of your screenshots on screenshot topic.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

nothing wrong with detective asking. This topic would be only half as alive without him :)

kory_toombs, pretty much what liberty said. I wouldn't mind symmetry that much if you didn't have so many statues. It really looks like you're just filling up empty space. Those arches however are really nice.

That's a shame.. Diablo 1 on PS1 actually got a splitscreen for co-op. That's pretty cool. I'll remember the name Darkstone if i happen to run into it in some online auction.

WWE '13.

I love it so much. Have put so much time into it it's nuts. The customization is the best part.

I've been playing newer WWE games at my brothers'. They're really fun actually. I think many people stray away from them because WWE. For the record I haven't followed WWE since it still was WWF so it certainly doesn't require any background knowledge.

Working my way through Darkstone on the PS1 for the...lost count of how many times I've played it, but yeah. While it's essentially like Diablo, or heck even Gauntlet, the game's still pretty damn fun and even one of my all-time favorites~ :3
This had my interest. Does it have a multiplayer? I'm liking old PS1 games for some odd reason and would be interested in additions to my library.

Myself, I was playing The Warriors again. It's really awesome game and I feel it's very under-appreciated. Hidden gem of PS2 era. I think it's closest to beat em' ups of olden days with some GTA-esque twists. Yesterday a group of 15 from Baseball Furies (they dress up in baseball uniforms, wear clown makeup and have this expressionless faces) chased me through baseball field. I was first running in the wrong direction so they caught me up. I busted their faces on concrete and made a few homeruns with their own baseball bats before making my escape :)
